Honoring Sergeant Carter: A Family's Journey to Uncover the Truth about an A Paperback – 10 December 2018

Sergeant First Class Cater is truly an American Hero. I am ashamed to say that the racist leaders of his time treated him and his family unfairly. Though it cannot make up for what was done to his desired career, the US Gov't finally awarded him the country's highest honor. Great story about a great man who did incredible deeds in three different wars.

Very good inspirationional story. I bought this after seeing a documentary on medal of honour winners Sergeant Carter was a real warrior and family man. Who was not recognised as a fighter by the US Army because of his colour and the times.

Have read about Sgt. Carter several times over the years. Good to get the complete story. Denied reenlistment for being a veteran of the Spanish Civil War ("wrong" side) as much as any racial issues. Now is a time where our country needs more Sgt. Carters as role models.

Great book written from the heart about an American Hero that was mistreated by the country he served. This is a story that should be taught to every American.

Interesting, sad and most telling of the prejudices of our government especially during the’50’s.
