heart wrenching ending with a beautifully written love story ❤️
started reading the book minutes' after opening the package, still reading it but it's really engaging.beautifully written charecters and well portrayed emotions are quite a good combo in here; so if you're going for a heart wrenching novella, it's peak time to pick this book up.

A really intriguing story
The whole story is just so sad, it's one of the saddest books I've ever read and I loved every bit of it!

Book is better than the movie.
My Policeman by Bethan Roberts is the story about Marion who has always been in love with her best friend’s brother, Tom. Marion is a teacher and he is a policeman, and they fall in love… or so it seems. But Tom has another friend, Patrick, who is a curator at the Brighton Museum and seems to be besotted with his policeman. But it was a time when you could not openly like whoever you liked and it was considered a crime. So, Tom chooses a safer option: Marion, a woman. But of course, love is not that simple. And Tom’s, Marion’s, and Patrick’s lives are intertwined forever.Even though the story is very slow paced, the beautiful writing made up for it. I loved the writing and it was the strongest point in the book.I also appreciated the choices of the two POVs. It was narrated by Marion and Patrick, both of whom were in love with Tom. Marion was with Tom but she couldn’t get the love from Tom which she deserved and Patrick couldn’t be with Tom and it hurt him thoroughly. You could actually feel Marion’s bitterness and Patrick’s despair through their narration. However, the story was quite slow paced and this showed in the adaptation. I had high expectations from the movie because of Harry Styles but the movie was not that great to watch. It was… boring. It was slow and it felt dragged.I’d definitely recommend the book because I enjoyed reading it for the most part. However, I would not recommend the movie. You can definitely skip it.

Recommend it 10/10
I recently finished reading "My Policeman" by Bethan Roberts, and I have to say, I was really moved by this beautifully written novel. The story takes place in 1950s Brighton and follows the lives of a schoolteacher, a museum curator, and a policeman who find themselves entangled in a complicated love triangle. I was impressed by Roberts' descriptive writing style, which transported me back to the era and made the story feel so real. The characters were complex and their emotions were portrayed in a way that felt authentic and relatable. I was particularly struck by the themes of love, desire, and secrecy, which were explored with such depth and nuance. If you're a fan of literary fiction that delves into the complexities of relationships, I highly recommend "My Policeman". Overall, I thought it was a wonderful book!

Tragic, heartbreaking yet, beautiful ❤
I can't explain the mirage of emotions that went through me while reading this, sadness being a constant. It was a painful journey, yet it had its beauty. Afterall it's the tragic love stories that are the greatest ones.
