Intel Processor - 1 x Core i7 2600/3.4GHz - LGA1155 Socket - L3 8MB - OEM

I'm a developer as well as a gamer, so when I was looking to build a PC last year the first thing I wanted to look at was an i7 and I started my build based around it. This little guy never stops amazing me. Having quad cores means you can get insane speeds running complex programs or multiple at once. The dual threading allows you to even push that higher, so when I compile code it zips through like nobody's business. I pair this with a Radeon 6770 graphics card and games run beautifully and I've never managed to really bog the processor down. Installing is as easy as any other processor, so if you know what you're doing it'll be a snap. If you don't, then seek guides or videos on how to do it before you start putting it on the board. It's not hard, but you don't want to risk damaging the fragile pins. Box comes with everything you need, which isn't much more than some documentation and a sticker. If you're into overclocking you'll need the 2600k but this thing is powerful enough stock that I haven't even considered that. All in all, everything I expected and more.

2012年にサーバー用途でcore i3 2100を使ったPCを組んで使い続けてきましたが、当初予定になかった録画データの自動エンコードという裏方処理をさせることになったのでi7 2600に交換しました。 いままで15分の動画をエンコードするのに25分30秒かかっていたものが9分20秒で終わりました。 しかもi3 2100はcpu負荷99%で張り付いていたのにi7 2600は70～80%程度の負荷という状態でこの変わりよう。 環境構築し直す手間もなく6000円の投資でこれだけの効果があれば大満足です。
