Légère Reeds - Alto Saxophone Reed, Signature, Strength 2.25 (ASG2.25) - Premium Synthetic Woodwind Reed

First time soon after I received a product writing a review within 30 minutes after using the product. This synthetic reed is an amazing product although an expressive one. I was able to play with ease despite being a beginner unlike the bamboo reed. Hope it last longer for its price. Pros: Don't need to wet, sound clearity is crystal clear and round, don't need to use pressure like the bamboo reed, comes with an hard plastic case. Con: Highly priced, wish the manufacturer makes it affordable.

I've been using the Légère Reeds Premium Synthetic Woodwind Reed (Signature, Strength 2.00) for almost two years now, and it has truly transformed my saxophone playing experience. After years of using traditional cane reeds, the switch to this synthetic reed has been amazing. One of the standout features is how soft and easy it is to play. It allows me to produce clear, consistent tones effortlessly, making practice sessions smoother and more enjoyable. Unlike cane reeds, the Légère reed requires no pre-soaking, so it's ready to go straight out of the box, which saves time and hassle. I also appreciate the durability—over time, it holds up well without the typical wear and tear associated with cane reeds. This reed has provided me with consistent performance for a much longer period than I ever experienced with wood reeds. While everyone’s preferences may vary, for me, this reed has been an excellent fit. I hesitated because the description of the product conveyed through the image isn't correct. This is a real 2.00 Legare Signature alto saxophone reed, just for the record (thanks to others for convincing me of this in the Q&A which led me to make my purchase). I am a relative newcomer to the saxophone so my judgments on sound quality should be taken with a grain, possibly a shaker, of salt. When I first tried this reed out I was really pleased, but experienced some difficulty with some mid-range notes sounding different or even off compared to wood reeds. However, as time has gone on I have to say I'm really pleased with this product and the sound quality produced - no soaking, just stick it in the mouthpiece and play the saxophone. The difficulties with some notes I was initially experiencing have largely abated. The biggest advantage? I find that I can hold a note longer and sweeter and with less air pressure than with a comparable wooden reed. There is no longer a whistling loss of air around my embouchure like there was with wooden reeds (yes, I tried different strengths and have worked on my embouchure). Well worth a try. Not having to wonder if the reed is bad, when to replace an old reed, and throwing away lots of little plastic cases are other pluses.

I'm a music teacher; ukulele, guitar, piano, and drums. I played sax in middle school and just picked the sax up again after a 40-year hiatus. I've been playing the Rico reeds, 2.0. They are fine. This is huge step up. One note... the Legere 2.0 and the Rico 2.0 are not the same strength. The Legere is more like a Rico 2.5. So, be prepared for some shorter practice sessions until the muscles get stronger.

Das Altsaxophon Blatt funktioniert sehr gut und das Sax hat einen sehr schönen Klang. Ich war am Anfang skeptisch, ob so ein Blatt aus Kunststoff überhaupt funktionieren würde. Nachdem ich bisher immer Blätter aus Holz hatte und diese in letzter Zeit nicht besonders gut und nicht lange gehalten haben, habe ich mich für diese Version entschieden. Der Kostenpunkt ist im Moment etwas höher, aber wenn die Langlebigkeit wie aufgeführt anhält, ist dieses Blatt auf Dauer kostengünstig. Ich bin über die Alternative sehr froh. Man kann damit sofort spielen und es ist kein Nassmachen erforderlich.
