Elasto-gel Cervical Collar CC102B

I have given this a 5 star rating because this is a fantastic product at a competitive price. However what you will get is the cervical collar covered by the 2 way stretch cotton-poly cover not the 4 way stretch cover (Lycra). With this cover the velcro strap must be closed by attaching it to the opposing velcro piece on the other side of the opening of the collar. For my purposes this works just fine and the strap is long enough to fit multiple neck sizes. I have multiple Elasto-Gel products and I personally prefer this type of cover which is a very sturdy yet soft fabric that stays in place. Amazon's description is incorrect since it says this is the 4 way stretch fabric which is Lycra. With the Lycra fabric the velcro strap can be fastened anywhere on the collar (since the velcro adheres to the Lycra). I find the Lycra fabric to be slippery and the gel piece inside slips and doesn't stay in place as well as with the cotton-poly fabric. The style number for the cotton-poly fabric collar is CC102B and the Lycra is CC102. If you prefer one over the other make sure beforehand you are getting the right one. Generally the Lycra fabric version is more expensive. Also make sure the product you are ordering is manufactured by Southwest Technologies the company the makes all of the Elasto-Gel products.I have used Elasto-Gel products for over 20 years now for neck and back problems and can't live without them. They are so simple to heat in the microwave but be very careful not to overheat. If you hear a popping sound you have overheated it. When we recently installed a new more powerful microwave my old collar overheated and burned through through the cover (the gel did not leak per se but was sticky at the burn spot). I decided it was safer to buy a new one but please note that I got over 10 years use out of that collar.The Elasto-gel insert inside your collar will stay warm for hours if you leave it in place. The part facing away from your body will cool down but the side against your body will absorb your body heat even after it cools down from the microwave. So you can get a very hot treatment right from the microwave and then get a nice constant warm heat which for me keeps my neck warm and pain free. I even use my collar to go out in very cold weather to prevent my neck muscles from contracting due to the cold.

I have had this product for two weeks. I was desperate after getting a sudden surge of headaches, including a 30 hour migraine. I was not sure the sudden cause of my headaches, but had sinus pressure and neck tension. I went to the doctor to see if I had any infections and I did not. She concluded I was having allergies and tension headaches.I got this product with the Elasto-Gel Eye Mask. I got the eye mask in the mail first. I heated it up, watch it is scolding hot even with instructions, but after a few minutes I put it on it relieved my headache within a few minutes and relieved the eye pain in the back of my eye. It was really relaxing.I was able to get my Elasto-Gel Cervical Collar a couple of days later. I woke up with a cranked neck and heated up the collar. The collar drapes over your back and attaches with a warm wrap around the neck and adjustable velcro strap. It relieved my tension headache within approx. 15 minutes. Since I have had both products, I used them everyday the first week I got them, now I am using them every other day, as my tension in my shoulders and neck have drastically improved since starting this therapy.Elasto-Gel Cervical CollarPros:It works! Relieves tension in shoulders and neck. Relieves tension headaches quickly.Very relaxing, especially when coupled with the Elasto-Gel Eye mask.The gel feels very durable, does not lose shape or feel flattened when laying down.Cons:Harder to heat because of the awkward shape. You have to heat it in the microwave on both sides. It has to be folded to fit in our microwave, although it is not very big. Our microwave is above the stove, average microwave. Does not get as hot as I would like it with recommended heat time, but as the tag states wattage and time varies.Do not use it in the microwave after cooking strong smelling food. The odor sticks to the fabric, which has to be washed.I have not used this product cold. I cant imagine cold being relaxing for a tension headache. :)

I thought this was made of some hard scratching vinyl/plastic material, but I was very pleased to find that the picture does not do it justice, it is actually a very soft fabric, which is comfortable and appears to be durable. I like how it can be folded and configured in all different ways; it can be worn like the picture to cover your upper spinal area as well as your neck, but I actually need to flip it over and have it on my lower head, to help with neck tension and headaches, it works both ways. it works well for my toddler's head too, I can wrap it totally over the top of his head and secure it under his chin, which will be perfect if ever a high fever strikes, I'm sure it will be good for headaches as well. I use it for my neck, but I can easily find other uses for this--arms, shoulders, headache, legs, back (although it wouldn't be long enough to fasten, you could always wrap something else around it to hold it in place). I really like this, and it was worth the price. I do wish it could stay colder longer, but it does get cold pretty quickly in the freezer, and I also like the fact that it can be microwaved for heat use. Overall very happy with this product.

Had treatment on my neck in America and a 9 hr car journey afterwards, then the flight. If only I had had this at the beginning.Took inflammation down and fits well and comfortably. Use it regularly and well worth the money.

So far I've only used it cold but it works really well. Is a comfortable fit and very soothing on painful muscles and tissue

Love this it heats up in a few mins or you can freeze it for a cold compress.I suffer with fibromylagia and it sooths my neck and shoulders i absolutly love it !!

A great collar for anyone who suffers from neck pain. I've got disc space degeneration and this really helps.

Thought the collar was very good, as it was quick to heat in the microwave and stayed in place allowing you to continue with other things. Only thing I would say is it has a strange odour. But on the whole very pleased
