I made the honey waffles on page 30 because I didn't have any butter and it was a dairy free recipe. I subbed the safflour oil (I didn't have that either) for olive oil and added lemon extract and cinnamon and also topped w/ peanut butter. I was surprised at how light and fluffy they were. The maker is super easy to use and clean. My only complaint is that the indicator light isn't timed like my old maker, so you have to guess at the perfect cooking time. These took about 2.5 minutes to cook. If you want perfectly round waffles like the box shows and less "edgy," use a 1/4 cup of batter carefully measured and not 3 TBS as the recipe calls for, even though it is close to the same (I I didn't figure that out until my last waffle in the batter). I highly recommend this waffle maker and I can't wait to try more recipes and invent my own. The measuring spoons are really adorable and have cute "pun" quotes on them. The waffle maker is made well and is perfect for kiddos or watching your portion control (They are the size of eggo waffles). I love the mini size.
