Are the animals hand painted or are they stickers?

I have had these type of puzzles for years. I still had some from at least 15 years ago. It is impossible for me to tell whether they are stickers with some type of laquer over the topor if they are painted on. All I can tell you is that I have never had them peel or get worn looking. These puzzles are very nice quality and I can atest to the fact that they do last for many years. I hope this helps you.

Which country is it made in?

Per the norm with most cheap toys, it is made in China. I can say however, I didn't notice any toxic smells and the blocks and boards don't seem to have any odd residue on them. I've had these for over a year (got them when the twins were about 2), they love them and use them often and I don't notice any flaws. My sets are painted blocks. Hope this helps...

Is this puzzle or isn't t made of real wood in its entirety?

I went over and picked up the puzzle and checked it out. The pieces are wood, very well constructed and actually stand up on their own. The base looks like it's two pieces of particle board pressed together making it 1/4 inch thick, it is not plastic, it doesn't bend so it shouldn't break. Very sturdy.

How many puzzel pieces are there? Is the picture under each piece identical so that the child can match them up?

This farm puzzle has 8 pieces and yes the picture under is identical. They are thick pieces (chunky) easy for little hands to hold and they will stand on a flat surface which adds another dimension to their play. The puzzle pieces are about 3/4 inches thick while the puzzle board is 1/4 so very easy for little hands to grab. You can't go wrong with Melissa and Doug puzzles. My next purchase will be a puzzle rack to hold my granddaughters puzzle collection :)
