The craftsmanship is impeccable — the leather is soft yet durable, and the rich, natural texture gives it a timeless, luxurious feel. Along with this journal was a note that gave me the impression that the craftsman is passionate about their craft, prompting this review.(I got the larger version in brown.)The spine, and both back and front cover are made of a single piece of real leather. The leather is rough on the inside, but is well soft enough to not damage the paper. The outside of the cover is nice and rigid, and the embossing was well done and stands tall and proud. The designs are well done, with plenty of detail, but no details that are small enough to get lost. The latch mechanism is riveted in well, and does not look as though the riveting has damaged the leather at all. The top latch is affixed to a small tab of leather so that the paper inside isn't damaged by the tension of the cover. Beautiful patina brass colored metal latch that fits the reddish-brown color of the leather's stain well. The leather also looks to have a slight patina, making it almost resemble a wood grain. The paper is thick and plenty bleed-resisting, and is bound to the spine in 5 separate "booklets". This way if the binding begins to wear, your more likely to loose 1/5 of the paper instead of all of it. The stitching on the spine looks neat and well thought out.This will make an absolutely amazing Dungeons and Dragons DM journal for quite some time.TLDR; Great care and craftsmanship in making this journal. Would buy again. 10/10

Yeah, this things awesome. If you need a journal I definitely recommend this one.I’m not an expert on leather so I can’t tell if it’s organic or synthetic but the build quality is really good. The paper is also another plus. It’s not fragile like notebook sheet paper but rather sturdy and durable. The sheets are separated into 5 sections so this makes it easy to assign different purposes. They are not refillable but I don’t mind because that just means there’s less chance for them to randomly come out.The locking mechanism is a bit looser than I would like which means it sporadically comes undone but not too big of a deal.The size is really convenient. I got the smaller one and it’s very easy to carry or throw into any bag unlike larger notebooks.The smell is very nice. I would describe it analogous to the smell when stepping into an antiquated cabin. Very rustic.No trace of industrial chemicals in the odor profile.The price is unbeatable. You won’t find something this high quality at this price point.One thing I would have liked is for the front and back to have a hard cover. Instead, it’s just a continuous sheet of leather that can bend and so taking notes on the edge pages when standing is not practical. I guess this makes it…softer though? If the seller comes out with a hard cover version I will definitely be picking it up.I’ve always liked black accessories but I sprung for the brown on this one and don’t regret it one bit. It’s a beautiful, sophisticated color that gives off the vibe of elegance and makes you look like you know what you’re doing. The dragon design is cool too.Gotten multiple compliments already when pulling it out. In an age where everything is digital it’s actually nice to have an analog, physical place to jot down notes.5/5

I was a bit wary from buying from this seller again since their last product was damaged and they didn't reply but I took my chances.This journal is in much better quality. The leather is smooth and the design is detailed. The lock handles excellently and the binding is firm. There are no cracks or breakage anywhere.The paper inside is a beautiful white and very smooth. It also easily opens up and spreads as you can see in the second photo I provided. This makes it easy and smooth for writing or drawing.

It’s nice, but smaller than I thought it would be, especially for the price!

I have always wanted a book like this for special occasions. The double dragon design immediately caught my attention, and the tooling on the leather is much higher quality than similar designs out there. The color is very nice and the paper has a heavy weight to it. This will be perfect. Very excited to use it!

My daughter loves dragons and when she opened this for her birthday yesterday she was stunned, as was I. This book is just gorgeous! The quality of leather and the embossing are exquisite and the paper nice and thick. The whole thing is beautifully crafted and has a wonderful clasp. She wants to write in in using her quill pen and attach little momentos with sealing wax inside. Comes inside a drawstring bag with a signed thank you note. Now I want one!
