Review: I'm 5'8 with a 34inch waist and 38inch Chest, average build and i ordered a 42R, length wise they are perfect, arm length is perfect as well, i do find the legs have a lot of room though, a little baggy for my liking so will be taking them in a touch, also there's a seam along the waist where you can add elastic which I plan to do as they seem to look a bit baggy and it will just tailor them in a touch, apart from that for my Halloween Costume i can work with them, I think the 40R would be too small as the torso area is a pretty nice fit, they just seem to get big on the waist and legs.
