Q: What color are the wheels? The pics show black but a reviewer's pics showed a clear plastic. How do they look looking down at them?

The ones I received have a dark center but a clear outer rubber wheel. They're much better on our laminate floors in our office. The other hard plastic ones that came with our stools and office chairs tended to be harder on the finish of the floors. They were very easy to replace.

Q: Are they safe on glass runners?

I am not sure but they work great on a hardwood floor. Great traction and no damage to the floor.

Q: I have a nice rug in my home office. The plastic caster wheel on my chair roll up the edge of the rug. Could this be an option other than plastic mat?

Possibly. I use my chair in the sewing room. My old wheels kept picking up every thread and fabric scrap. These eventually have picked up some thread, but nothing like the old ones because, I think, the axis is higher off the ground. In any case, they are a pleasure to use. I do have a rug under my chair with no problems, but it it a big enough rug that I do no often roll over the edge. However, I cannot imagine these wheels catching the rug.

I purchased thew Seddox Wheels and they are made in China.
