It's a USB device so it's Plug'n'Play. You might have to download or update your USB drivers but the drive itself works with any Windows version. **Q: can you play the games saved on it or do you have to transfer back and forth on ps4?** A: I've only used my external drive for about a day now, TL;DR it's good but it's not great. I tried running Skyrim Special Edition from my 4TB external hard drive. For the most part, it ran very smoothly. Occasionally, I would notice dips. These dips always happened when something was loading while playing. For example, if a special dialogue popped up or I first walked into a town and the NPCs were loading. I suspect this is because of the poor random read/write speeds. That being said, these weren't common and when they happened they weren't that bad. I probably noticed 4 or 5 freezes in 30 minutes of playing the game (and they usually lasted for less than a second). I also found that pre-allocating games (AKA setting up the installation, takes a fairly long time). For a 50 Gigabyte game, I feel like it takes around 2 to 5 minutes before it even starts downloading. On my solid state drive this would normally take a few seconds. That being said, loading times for my games have been ok. Loading up Skyrim for the first time takes about 30 seconds. It's not great but it's not horrible. **Q: What is the lithium ion battery for and where does it go ? Descriptor says a Lithium ion battery is required.** A: I can assure you there's no battery required whatsoever. I don't know why the description has it in there. **Q: Is this powered by computers USB port?** A: Yes, one of the best, low maintenance, external drive I've owned.
