This is an excellent product and it is washed out during the cleaning process for the dishwasher. It is especially good if you do not have soft water. **Q: When using this on a front load washing machine, where do you put the packet, In the tub or where you put the detergent?** A: I have a top loading washing machine. I put the LemiShine right into the tub NOT the soap dispenser. I have a front loading dish washer and I put LemiShine directly into the bottom of the dish washer, NOT the soap dispenser. A front-loader with a lot of buildup might need more than one cycle and some elbow grease on the door gasket, but if you use this once every month (and keep that door cracked open when not in use) you won't get to that point in the first place. The only difference between this and their washing machine specific product is that the other one comes with wipes to clean the gaskets and such - which you can use any rag to do. **Q: I have treated my washer 3 times with this product and it still smells. Any recommendations?** A: I have not used this product in my washer before, but a recommendation would depend on the type of washer you have. Front loader have a cleaning cycle and products that are specific for these types of washers, also leaving the washer door open so it can dry out helps. This little tablet will clean the barrel super shiny. It removes all the build up of soap & water stains nicely for my junky Samsung Frontload. It's pretty finicky and we argue often about codes for "suds." I use these tablets at least once a week to clean the barrel and it seems to help the tantrums this washer likes to throw. I toss a tablet directly in the barrel to use. Run a regular cycle with extra rinse and this seems to do the magic. I think if I had a good washer, I would love these little tablets even more. I do also use these on my dishwasher ( We tend to get along much better.) and it helps clean it as well.
