JOYOJF-13 AC Tone Vox Amp Sim

I love this ACTone, it really does sound like a Vox amp, with that superb crunch that you just can't get anywhere else. This thing is very very accurate, switching to American Tone, you get the Fender, the British you get the Marshall, but im so glad the ACTone is the Vox, its a true collection of epic amp from the ages. This pedal is a must have if you play high gain blues.

Got this to add tones like a Vox for my pedalboard. It was a bit oversized. Sound was ok compared to other pedals, but for the price it was a winner.

I have been carrying around a Vox AC30CCH and 2-12" cabinet (with Celestion Golds) for many years, but it's getting harder to justify as I age, and the stages get smaller. This pedal produces a more than satisfactory simulation of a Vox AC30, better than many modeling amps, pedals, and software. Miles above the results of Amplitube 2, a product I attempted to use live a few years back. I own both the JF-13 and it's 'mentor' the Tech 21 Liverpool, and while I think the Liverpool sounds a bit more authentic, it's probably not enough for the average audience member -- or a lot of band members -- to notice. The case is rugged, and the paint job and labeling looks good. It doesn't have a cab/tone switch for use with a combo amp, so it might require some EQ in that situation.There are a couple of things I don't like:- The build quality is about what would be expected out of an under-$50 (street) pedal. I have no qualms about using it in the practice room, but I don't think I would trust it on a regular gigging basis.- The pedal picks up AC noise through my Ric 620 when I stand near the pedal, much more so than with either the real AC30 or the Tech 21. (When I move 5-6 feet away, it's gone.)- The tone controls don't emulate the AC30 perfectly. When I set my Top Boost channel Treble/Bass to 12:00, I get a different sound than the same positions on the AC Tone. That said, it is possible to dial in the same sound -- it's just not where one would expect.- Again, the Drive settings of the AC Tone don't match those on my AC30, and need to be tweaked.- Finding the 'sweet spot' on the Voice control is more difficult than on the Tech 21.All that said, it's hard to be too critical of this box, given the price! Just be aware of the limitations.

Came in a fairly thin bubble wrap envelope with just the normal box it would be in at a store - not sure if that had anything to do with the outcome.Died within 15 minutes of plugging in. Had a treble-y static when playing through it.I experimented a bit - when I went to coil tap/single coil, if I turned down to 5, the static went away. Humbucker required an even lower volume. This does not bode well for putting a pedal in front of this product - which ostensibly is a mandatory feature, as it is supposed to emulate an amp.That said, once I'd solved the static issue, tuning around in various ways, I was able to find a few pleasing tones. I'd say that it takes a little bit of time dialing each one in, but it did produce some very useful sounding tones. (the sound I was getting on the bridge pickup was horrifying at first, but after dialing around with the treble and voice knobs I started to get kind of excited about the pedal's possibilities)I've already ordered a new one from the same seller and arranged for return. It was pretty easy to set up, so I'm not too put out about it.Either it's hit-or-miss with build quality OR these pedals cannot take a beating - either in transit or otherwise. That shouldn't surprise anyone considering the Tech 21 Liverpool pedal is $180 and these run around $30.I suspect this is a good pedal for a home studio, where light use is going to be the rule. Not sure this should be brought out on the road or taken to gigs in bars - not without a backup.My opinion may change - I've got another coming in a couple days.If you pull up some youtube reviews of these pedals, you'll HEAR what they can do. Considering the price, they're being well-received . I was looking for a few cheap ways to color the sound of my Fryette Valvuator GP/DI and this actually seems like it will do the job if I can get one that doesn't die and doesn't have the static issues. I've got an American Sound (Fender Twin) coming next week as well.

I own a couple of Vox amplifiers, and this little box can emulate those tones with careful adjustment, as well as they are a lot lighter to carry, lol. I use a tube screamer clone in front of it with medium gain and it drives the AC Tone into a very nice pick responsive overdrive without going too fuzzy. Can be very bright, so you might want to dial in some bass on your amp to compensate. I love it; makes my Stratocaster sing like Brian May. It replaces my OCD V4 pedal for drive, it is so much more colorful, and the price doesn't hurt too much, either. If you are on a low budget (and who knows of a musician who isn't?) this one is a good clean-to-OD boost to a very chimey/treble-y tone.

Allora, iniziamo a dire che il mio e' un esperimeno anomalo, volevo valutare questi pedali economici rispetto a marche di blasone ma ponderando attentamente l'accoppiameno dei vari effetti... in poche parole volevo vedere di riuscire per pura scommesa ad ottenere la sfumatura cercata nell'anima delle mie chitarre senza spendere un capitale... infatti dopo attento studio personale del suono che cercavo, ho abbinato ben 8 pedali di questi vari cloni economici,...chorus, Booster Delay compressor overdrive, distorsore un Ac Tone Joyo e un equalizzatore a 5 bande...,.. risultato dopo attento studio del suono di ogni pedale prima dell'acquisto e il giusto collegamento in sequenza ,.. ho un suono che ha del miracolo,..... certo, sono un po' stizzosi tra loro, e basta un peale al posto sbagliato per inficiare il suono completo della catena, ma come dicevo, con attenta pazienza i risultati si sono dimostrati come pensavo, .. un suono fantastico che ha dell'incredibile,... certo, non so' quanto possano durare nel tempo, ma li uso da un anno e reggono bene, ... a me piace molto sperimentare suoni nuovi, con chitarra Evh Wolfgang, Dean Mab 4 tutto collegato con ampli BlackStar 100 Id core e Mixer Alesis 8 canali, per giocarci in casa vanno piu' che bene, registro con PC e valuto ogni singolo pedale aggiunto e questo ultimo pedale appunto Ac Tone Joyo e' un divertimento garantito con piena soddisfazione del prodotto e del servizio di Amazon. Ho imparato una cosa con il tempo,.. un pedale magari fa poco d solo, ma combinandone diversi assieme e cosa importante, con una cifra totale di non oltre 150 euro, si puo' fare molto, e quello che ne esce se si usa la logica ovviamente, e' fantastico... poi ripeto, in esibizioni live, non apro bocca ad affidabilita di duratura nel tempo ', ma almeno poi da tutto questo, ne emerge che ora se devo acquistare un pedale da 200 euro, so dove e cosa cercare.. troppa gente butta soldi importanti per pedali che poi magari si sono dimostrati quello a cui non ambivano... perche' in fondo, il fine e' solo uno, la ricerca del proprio suono, la firma di noi stessi attraverso questo nostro amato od odiato strumento..... Comunque, Ac Tone lo stra-consiglio senza scendere in dettagli tecnici di cui molti hanno oramai parlato e lo faccio assieme ad una frase oramai conosciuta ma sempre di effetto che qualcuno pronuncio' tempo fa.. Qualche volta tu vorrai rinunciare a suonare la chitarra. Tu odierai la tua chitarra, ma se le sarai fedele lei ti ricompensera'.. J.H.

Il pedale ha qualche problema di contatto con l'alimentatore, ma è un problema trascurabile se il cavo non viene mosso troppo o se si alimenta a batterie. I controlli di equalizzazione sono attivi, quindi la posizione flat è a metà corsa, e la sensibilità è importante. Alzando il drive il pedale inizia a fischiare ma non risulta fastidioso. Il controllo più importante secondo me è Voice, perchè a parità di gain, cambia completamente il suono. Con gain al massimo ma voce "chiusa" abbiamo un leggero crunch, mentre anche solo a metà corsa si sfiorano distorsioni da metal. Viste le caratteristiche del Vox che simula, secondo me questo pedale da il meglio di sè come leggero overdrive per ritmiche precise e taglienti. Ci vuole un minimo di esperienza e del tempo per gestire al meglio l'equalizzazione.

Ottimo prodotto della Joyo (clone di un altro ben noto effetto) che permette di ottenere il suono dell'amplificatore Vox Ac30 (Beatles, Queen, U2, ecc. ecc.). Grazie alle equalizzazioni, al drive ad al controllo "voice" si possono trovare suoni molto differenti, ma sempre biritish chiaramente... se siete amanti del genere, un must senza necessariamente dover spendere molti soldi

Un pedale estremamente "onesto", qualità al di sopra delle aspettative.Pro:- Prezzo molto accessibile- Nessun rumore o difetto particolare- Clone del Tech 21 Liverpool- Suona molto bene anche in DI- EQ molto musicale e versatileContro:- Esteticamente un po' bruttino- L'EQ attivo può essere un'arma a doppio taglio se non usato correttamente

Esisteranno anche altri pedali più blasonati, ma per il prezzo a cui è venduto è impossibile chiedere di meglio. Chassis robusto, manopole sensibili (soprattutto il controllo "Drive" che aggiunge un extra boost per chitarre single coil e che comunque cambia la "pasta" iniziale secondo gusto), buona resa di simulazione cassa una volta dentro l'impianto. Emulazione credibile di un Ac30 standard. Ottimo come backup o per suonare in diretta in piccoli posti.
