I have almost 7/8" thick gypsum board ceilings and had issues 3 years ago doing my living room with another brand. Had to file the ceiling thickness at the clips. But THIS PRODUCT has excellent springs on the two clips and placed higher so they snap into the ceiling of standard thickness and deeper too like mine. They have a high quality driver/built-in j-box (that is separate from the light) so a remodel is super easy. It also is dimmable, at least with the higher end lutron Diva dimmer I bought for about $30 here. I wanted to be SURE it dimmed these and it did. I had a single light in the middle of my hallway that needed replacing with these 4 LED Recessed lights. I used an adjustable Milwaukee Ceiling hole cutter set at 4.25" and cut 4 holes in the ceiling. I looped romex thru each hole (about 4' apart). These LED lights have the separate J-box so I wired in and out those boxes with my white and black wires, then connected to the old j-box that had my old light. I actually used that hole for a new 120v smoke detector to cove that hole but taped into it for the existing circuit to these new lights. The light then has a 6" whip that snaps into the whip on the j-box, then hold back those clips and put the light in the hole. Looks awesome in my hallway. BTW: I had a 3way switch in that hallway, and that Lutron dimmer replaced just one 3way switch for dimming. I left the other end as it was. This Lutron Diva can be used for 3 way or single as well, same price.

3 light temperature choices made this ideal for my art studio. I enjoy a cozy and warm light spectrum in most of my workspace, but others I want a more cool and "natural" light. With this multipack I can set each light to be in the spectrum that's best for that area without having to buy a multitude of different lights to achieve that goal. Installation of new, and the replacement of pre-existing lights, was pretty easy even in a compact ceiling space where typical "can lights" would have never fit. Since my ceilings are sloped, ranging from 9 feet on up to 14 feet at the highest point, having built-in gimbal allows me to easily aim the light in any direction I want. The lights are perfectly bright, even at the highest point.

These lights are great. I like that they can be dimmed and the white color temperature can be adjusted just by setting the little slide on the side of the metal j-box. They are easy to install and put out a good amount of light. We used a 4" hole saw to cut the circles out of the pine tongue and grove ceiling and on that ceiling material the 4" size was perfect.

Nice light that works well with my dimmer switch. I see this scattered through some of this lights reviews: You get a 4 1/4 inch template with this light/kit to install. I would highly recommend NOT using this provided template, that is a 4 1/4 inch hole size, for your ceiling. If you over cut even slighly then your screwed and you'll just barely see the hole edges around the light hole which no one of course wants to see. The perfect size is 100mm (a hair under 4") that this assembly body will fit into (the holding springs are slightly larger that 4" but you can easily push those through the drywall with the ~ 4" hole). Just buy this 100mm hole saw and you'll be good to go with this.

I'm putting these in the ceiling of a stairway to the basement. These have a number of nice features: - since the ceiling is at a slant, conventional surface lights could be blinding at the top entrance of the stairway. But these tilt about 30 degrees, so it greatly reduces that bright light in the eyes. The tilt doesn't seem to cause problems when coming up the stairs... your eyes are on the steps. - these are wider angle than I expected. So, in this stairway, each light illuminates about 8 feet of stairs and side walls. I've got three lights for my 13 steps. they're about 4 ft apart and provide exceptional lighting. - the lights are small enough that they fit in the space between stairs (the drywall is flush against the bottom of the upper staircase).

Nice lights with push connectors. I replaced my dingy tract lights with these and am amazed at the light. I have a wide collection of tools and years of experience so installation went well. I made a template from an oatmeal top and used a multi-tool and box cutter for the holes. This is not hard, however, if you are not skilled, you can make a mess of your ceiling, holes too large, confused with where to start the line, and your rows may be uneven. Remember, put the switch where you want it before you install the lights! Mine is set at full bright. I installed them today and have no idea how long they last.

It won't let me give it two stars. Interesting. I've had these lights installed for about two years. Three of them have burned out on the light 2700 that it was set on. It will still work if you move the switch up to the next setting. BUT if that color light is not what you want, you are out of luck. Don't buy these if you want long term usage
