Check the expirey date when you get it.
I made the mistake of not opening it right away, and once I did the resin was all hard inside and crystallized. Because I waited, I'm not sure if it expire(if that is even a thing for this stuff) or if I got a bad can. The expiry date that was on the can that I bought was from the year before I actually bought it.

INCOMPLETE PRODUCE PACKAGE-- HARDNER DROPS MISSING...
This product DID NOT COME WITH THE SMALL BOTTLE OF HARDNER DROPS THAT THE RESIN NEEDS TO WORK WITH..!! I had to go to Hobby Lobby to buy again the entire package with BOTH COMPONENTS....

Good item but beware "old" stock. Should come fairly runny, not thick "glops".
I've used several gallons of this stuff making various artwork castings, and it makes a great base material for custom fountain pen blanks mixed in with pigments and pearlescent pigments. One of the reviewers says the company has poor quality control, but what they need to understand is that this product will gum up over time, so even a freshly opened can might come out very thick/gloppy, and it depends on how old the can is. It may have set on a shelf in the store, or stock room, or warehouse for a year or so before it ever made it to the shelf.Good casting resin is somewhere between the thickness of water and pancake syrup. Old casting resin will thicken up considerably and may not behave properly.

Company has poor quality control
I'm new to the hobby of making crafts with clear resin. I purchased this at Michaels Craft supply. When I first tried to pour it, it came out in a very heavy blob that was hard to control much less measure. After I bought my second container, I was expecting it to be just like the first one but it poured out like water. I have added more than enough hardener and it is not setting. I'm not sure which is the correct stuff--the blobby stuff that is hard to measure and work with or the thin watery stuff that won't harden. I've tried to call the company but there is no contact information on the can. I kept both containers inside my air conditioned house so I know the difference is not because of temperature.

Catalyst is Ordered Separately
Bought the resin, and then discovered from the can that the catalyst has to be ordered separately, so I was stuck waiting for the catalyst. Mixed the catalyst and the resin as directed, three days later it had not set up and was still runny. Wiped out my mould and used Bondo. This stuff is a rip-off.

Slow setup, dried yellow
Horrible set times combined with yellowing and cloudiness at 1/2" depths. Bondo is so much better. Catalyst is not included as well. You're paying a lot for just the resin in this case.

excellant company
I ordered this product from the company and it got here a week earlier than proposed. I recieved the exact order packed very well and I am ordering from this company again. Highly recommend them. Cyndy

A Staple for the hobbyist for decades
This product has been a standard for hobbyists, railroaders and diorama makers for decades now. It works well and you can make very thick casts of clear material that look like water. This isn't for children though! It is toxic and you have to mix it properly with drops of catalyst. You also have to absolutely do this either outside or in an extremely well ventilated area.Four stars because it works well and sets into a beautiful clear form but it does take some effort to mix and keep ventilated. If you are looking to make water effects for dioramas and you dont need it to be any thicker than 3/8 inch you should try Realistic Water, 16 fl oz . Theres no mixing and no fumes. If you need a really thick water landscape poured then this is then this casting resin is the way to go.
