That is how absolutely terrible this product is. On first use attempt I turned the nozzle to the mist/spray setting. The trigger moved but it didn’t pump a single drop onto the wheels where I wanted it. However, it DID leak and dump acid all over my hands. This product is expensive for what you receive, unless you paid to hear a very funny joke about this being a useful product that cleans wheels. Because it doesn’t work even slightly. Even with a great amount of scrubbing and force the product, even when applied liberally, didn’t even touch the iron from brake pads on my wheels. After all this, they had the absolute nerve to tell me that this product is not returnable. PLEASE do not purchase this product. It’s absolute trash. Review: I immediately had to transfer contents to another spray bottle because on the first pump the sprayer stayed pushed in and no matter how many times i manually pulled it out it kept getting stuck. HOWEVER, once I used my own spray bottle everything worked great and cleaned brake dust and rust stains off my neglected painted aluminum wheels to like new condition. I did have to agitate with a brush a little under the center caps but it was minimal effort. The first spray bottles I purchased "Chemical Guys ACC_121.16HD-3PK Chemical Resistant Heavy Duty Bottle and Sprayer (16 oz) (Pack of 3)" all failed to work after their first usage. I replaced them with "3 Pack 32oz. SprayMaster Heavy Duty Spray Bottles", which are holding up. The rat tail brush is "17 Inch Wite Wheel Spoke Brush Large" Keep dipping it into the soapy water and it will help remove what the acid softens. A mild brush on the outside of the wheels will suffice. I checked the MSDS and the active ingredients are phosphoric acid and citric acid, which are safer than hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acids. If the wheels are extremely coated with brake dust, then they might not become completely clean until the second cleaning. After that, once every few weeks should suffice. **Q: Is this safe on any type of wheels?** A: Safe on most always test but I like it and use it daily.. **Q: can I use this on my aluminum wheels to get some hard stuck on grime off?** A: Depending on what is the source of the grime and how long it has been on the wheel, Speedy Brite may or may not remove it. Every case is unique and is a case by case scenario when it comes to something like this. As far as general aluminum wheel cleaning and maintenance, Speedy Brite is awesome! **Q: Is this safe on powder coated matte wheels?** A: I don 't know if this is safe on your wheels but I do know that it's not very effective to begin with when using the suggested strength. It may seem inexpensive due to being diluted 3-1 or 4-1 but it isn't worth your money. It did a poor job removing brake dust and road grime from my clear coat wheels and was just as ineffective at cleaning tires. This stuff is the horrible melt your skin off killer awesome working stuff of old. It took off that gold iron flake that was baked on for years. It took the brake dust right off. The wheels are nice and shiny. It works way better than the chemical guys product, decon pro iron remover, but you must wear gloves when you're using this stuff it will kill you and it will remove the paint if you leave it on too long. Oh, and one star off because the spray bottle sucks.
