It's the real thing.
A very hard bar of soap, soap rinses super clean. I bought several bars to shred and mix with Borax, Washing Soda and Baking Soda to make my own natural laundry detergent without artificial smells. But it's also a good basic soap to use in the bath and shower as well.

My second favorite soap!
Kirks castle soap is a great soap, but not my favorite. Dr. Bronner's tops my list. Here is why. Let's start with the similarities. Both soaps are castile soaps and American made. Both are vegan, cruelty free, non GMO certified, and carry natural antibacterial properties. I also like the fact that both are family owned and operated companies. Those above reasons alone gives good reason to purchase either brand. Now lets list the differences. Dr. Bronner's is a thicker 5 ounce bar as compared to the slimmer 4 ounce Kirks. I also believe that Dr. Bronner's might be cured longer(IMO) giving each bar a bit more longevity apart from size. The ingredients list varies as well. Dr. Bronner's containers ALL ORGANIC coconut oil, palm oil, sodium hydroxide, water, olive oil, hemp oil, jojoba oil, sea salt, citric acid and tocopherol. Kirks ingredients are not organic and list sodium cocoate, water, glycerin, sodium chloride, aloe barradensis leaf juice(aloe brand only), sodium copper chlorophyll in, natural fragrance.Another huge difference is the price point. I only purchase Dr. Bronner's at my local Sprouts Grocery store when it's on sale. It normally cost around $5.00 per bar and the will occasionally have a sale price of $2.99 per bar. That's when I stock up! I keep Kirks on hand for those in between times. At $2.50 per bar average, it's a great back up for the price. Both soaps lather up and rinse well. Both are solid choices compared to the mass produced options that line are grocery store shelves. I hope this was helpful!!

Takes a long time to rinse off.
Been using this soap for about four years and over the past year I have noticed it takes forever to rinse off. When I first started using it for my babies, I was impressed with how CLEAN it rinsed off. Now, it takes a great deal of rinsing to get that clean feeling. I had to switch to another soap at the bathroom sink, as my kiddos kept rinsing and rinsing their hands, because they can't get the soap off! Has the formula changed?
