Decent bed but some gripes
We ordered this for our children and were excited to put it together. It’s possible to get the job done with one person, but I highly recommend two people when having to lift the bunk. There are a few problems though: 1) the stairs are difficult to assemble and the pictures in the instructions are not drawn correctly. Some of the pictures have the orientation of parts incorrect, leading to confusion. I disassembled the stairs twice to make sure I had it built properly. In the end. Several holes didn’t match up between the railing and the staircase… but I mitigated it by tapping new holes and inserting alternate hardware. The second gripe I have is the stench and the airborne chemicals it produced. Plain and simple, whatever paint is on this product made me sick. I had a tickle in my throat about an hour into building and then I had a full blown sinus infection the next day. I’ll be repainting this to see if it mitigates whatever powder that is coming off the materialEdit: 8/23….I hope Max and Lilly reads this. 7 days after building the bed and stairs, I went to the doctor for my sinuses and trouble breathing. I have been diagnosed with pneumonia. Your product really needs to through some QC because if this made me sick building it… what is it doing to our children if we don’t properly sanitize it? I have wiped the entire frame down with water and alcohol to ensure that the dust on the wood is removed

Cute, but not sturdy!
I was so excited to set this up for my grandkids. It is time consuming to assemble and the instructions are very poor. I was able to get the bed together but the stair portion was missing a piece and had a broken piece. Customer service said they would send me the pieces I needed, but in the meantime the portion we had assembled broke and could not be repaired, the dowels snapped the wood housing around them. We are now going to have to spend $200 for a ladder to get to the top bunk.It gets assembled like an Ikea product, except once an Ikea product is assembled it is super sturdy. This is not. I would not recommend for any children over the age of 5 due to the lack of strength. It is cute though.

well built
sturdy , just the look we wanted, But, we will be adding a final coat of paint. Some parts seem barely covered by the base coat, much less a final coat. Not difficult to do ,just not perfection. par for our world

The stairs are a pain to put together...
This is a very beautiful bunk bed . But the dang stairs were so complicated to put together. I almost gave up . In the directions there are just pictures and that makes it hard . It took my longer to put stairs together then the three beds . But other then the stairs being so complicated. It was a great buy and my daughter loves it .

Clay finish is extremely rough like sand paper, Max & Lily support hung up on me
After opening the first box and getting the stairs assembled, the wood is just too rough. It has a finish in it worse than sandpaper. I called Max & Lili to ask about it and they said the Clay finish is tougher than the others but this is beyond rough, my child’s pants stuck to it when testing it out and didn’t like touching it with their hands (who would?). Upon asking my options, the Max & Lili rep said I could call Amazon and simply hung up on me. I wouldn’t recommend this bed based on the materials and even more so the lack of any empathy and customer support received. After waiting a week for delivery and two anxious kids excited for a new bunk bed, this is likely getting returned.

Worst quality possible.
Some parts are coming cracked out of the box. The paint is so thin it barely covers the wood. Some parts are in some stains. Attaching a few images you can see the quality.

Good product
Well made bed frame. Some imperfections in the wood but it’s real wood so it’s understandable. Instructions were detailed and easy to follow and took a while to put together but worth the time
