Magnifique ouvrage, emballage pitoyable !
Ce livre est très riche en illustrations et en informations historiques.Malheureusement, l'emballage plus que basique a été détruit durant le transport et le beau livre est plein de bosses, de trous... C'est une honte qu'un site comme celui ci se fiche totalement des clients

Visually stunning overview of the American Revolution.
Like many of the books published by DK, this over-sized book is a stunning visual "overview" of the American Revolution. The book begins at the time that the 13 colonies were settled and continues through Washington's inaugural address. Although the specific topics are not developed extensively, this book is an excellent introduction to the important events that created our country. I highly recommend this book. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

Excellent American Revolution book. Includes the Southern Campaign!
For decades, the Southern Campaign of the Revolutionary War has been dismissed, discounted & discarded from American Revolution books, claiming to be thorough accounts of this epic historical event. I was very pleased to find that this was the not the case with this stunningly visual book. I greatly appreciate the reviewer who posted images of the table of contents, so I could confirm this prior to purchasing, and I am adding to all of the reviewers’ previews here by including images of the Southern War section. Now, this section is still small, but at least SC’s role is mentioned. And glad to see that Francis Marion (The Swamp Fox) was featured, albeit an extremely small vignette, but that’s why I own several other books, which are solely dedicated to Marion, Greene, Sumter & the many others who stood up against some of the most brutal attacks on Colonials by the British during the course of the war. Their acts against civilians, namely women & children made Gage’s treatment of the people of Boston look almost tame. Afterall, Tarleton was given the nickname, “The Butcher” for his atrocities in South Carolina. And lastly, without the “new” tactics employed by these Southern Patriots, the war would have lasted much longer, if we were to be victorious at all. Glad to see them included.

Comprehensive and organized
One of the biggest hurdles to understanding the revolutionary war, is the breadth of the conflict. So many moving parts, often not related at the time, but influencing each other nonetheless. This book is a great overview, hitting all the major points as they fall along a timeline from 1775-1783, and then onto the challenges of the Union. Easy to read, illustrated superbly, and presented in a format that is logical and engaging. A great addition to my library.
