LamyReplacement Nib, Steel Fine (LZ50SL/F)

While this nib is just a bit finer than I expected, it's absolutely fantastic. It writes very smoothly and allows me to put in all the extra marks that defines calligraphic script. One of the things I love about this nib is that the ink doesn't leak from it or come out unevenly as well as its smooth writing. Interestingly, it was easy to fit onto the pen, but getting off the other nib was difficult. When changing to this nib, be sure to remove the ink supply first, and then take off the other nib by slightly pushing it off with a high quality flat head screwdriver, very gently. Then you can simply slide this nib right on. Save the other nib, though, because you may want to use it in the future. This is one of the finest writing instruments I've ever used, and I've had some expensive ones, including a silver fountain pen that didn't write quite as smoothly as this Lamy nib and pen does.

These work great with my Safari.I previously had a few extra fine nibs. They were the appropriate size, but were always scratchy and seemed to dry out quickly. I broke one of them from trying to fix the issues.Finally I purchased the fine nib, thinking the larger size would be worth less scratch. To my pleasant surprise they are not that much larger, but are way more smooth and have given me no major drying issues.Best nib by far (I have a medium too; it's too large).

This was a GREAT purchase and an amazing upgrade from my Medium nib I originally purchased. So smooth and an easy flow for a lefty.

I bought several Lamy Safari pens with a medium nib and I have enjoyed writing with them. By accident, I bought one with a Fine nib and that seems to be a better size for my writing style. As the nibs are replaceable, all I had to do was buy a couple more Fine nibs and I would convert all of my pens into a superior writer. They have all been great and I am so glad I came across the Fine nib. It has worked out just great.

The fine writes like many extra fines. The extra fine nib is waaaay too fine, and so you feel like you're just scratching paper. The fine is the perfect balance between a fine line and still getting a good flow. There is plenty of tooth. After all, it's not a nib for a high-end fountain pen. Still, it's one of my favorite every day pens

I ordered three of these. All three were scratchy and inconsistent. Some fit loose, others tight. Some had meager flows, other were gloopy. Two were so scratchy they would leave visible lines on the paper when I tried them without ink. I have used good Lamy nibs in a variety of sizes, and these were of much lesser quality.Be aware that Morgan's Direct Limited would not accept return for any of these nibs, even though they ship using Amazon Prime.

It was really easy to replace the old nib. Works great saved my pin.

This is clearly marked as a set of five nibs, but only one was in the package, making it rather expensive (you can buy a LAMY pen for only a little more)

My Lamy safari had a Medium which wrote more thickly than the Japanese Medium. I was glad to get a Lamy fine which lays a Medium-fine line. Unlike many fine nibs, it is not toothy or scratchy. My Lamy has now taken on a different character altogether and has become my preferred pen for long sessions of writing.
