The call to plumber started with a weird whining noise that progressively got louder and I traced the source to the main water pipe and valve coming into the house. Consequently, we called the plumber the very next day and had it repaired by the following afternoon. All said and done, the repair in combination with installing the pressure valve resolved the strange ghostly whining in the pipe, and the plumber cut the pressure back to 50 psi. That said, I purchased the Flow Doctor Water Pressure Gauge to check the pressure myself and low and behold, it was exactly 50 psi per the plumber's recommended setting. So now I have validated their work and I am impressed with the accuracy of this little gauge. I did see a few folks state that their Flow Doctor leaked excessively. I had no issues. I do know that it would leak like a sieve if you did not use the supplied rubber washer. As long as you pop that on before you connect it to your mains water or hose line, you should have no leaks.
