I used the Char-Broil App to assemble the grill. Like others said it takes some time to assemble but I found the App mostly useful with the images, although some were a bit misleading. The hardest part was to plug the Gas tube. My recommendation- if you are not technical and good in DIY, pay for the assembly. I used it once since then with coal and it seems to me that the tray is too close to the meat. Also, in the pictuers there are place holes on the righr side shelf meant for hooks to hang the grill tools, which I thought supposed to come with it but I didn't see it.
