I'm unsure of what you mean by "gooey". It's a liquid that's the consistency of half and half, and smooth. It clings to the measuring/serving spoon. I pour into the spoon over a cup, since I can be totally clumsy sometimes and would waste half of it, and it clings to a china cup. I pour a bit of water in, stir to "rinse" the spoon, and drink it down. I can see that the cup is lightly coated as well, even with the water. You do have to shake the container quite well prior to using. However, it isn't the consistency of honey. I would imagine if you compared your original liposomal formula/ingredients with this one, you could see what's different.
