I'm not good enough to know the difference in practice though and just find it annoying. **Q: I was hoping you'd have one with a curved blade for baguettes. Also, it was recently brought to my attention that if you add a small washer (or two) under the blade, the lame can quickly and easily become a straight blade lame. It’s like having two lames in one. The whole lame, including the Thumbscrew or Thumbnut is made of food grade 430 Stainless steel. Therefore, it can be placed in the dishwasher. A fully stainless lame was one of my design criteria as I am not a fan of plastic or wood utensils. With that in mind, I can say that I do not put my lame in the dishwasher for a couple reasons. - It typically does not really get very dirty so I just wipe it off - things in the dishwasher get bounced around and the blade could get dulled by hitting other things But, its your choice.
