18 Crochet blankets with written and visual instructions
This is a nice crochet book of 18 different classic blanket patterns. Most of the patterns call for worsted weight (4) yarn though four use 3 yarn and two use 2 yarn. I find that the worsted weight yarn makes up a nice warm blanket. The instructions are written for US standards but the visual instructions work for everyone. The yarn used for the model is provided by name as well as hook size and gauge. There are optional edgings provided at the back of the book. I like that as I can choose the edge that I want (if any at all.) There are also instructions for stitches and for construction. The only odd thing that I found in the book was that it lacked instructions for a single crochet. At first, I thought that perhaps that stitch was not used; however, that is not the case. I'm sure it was simply an editing oversight. You can easily find instructions for a single crochet by doing a search on the internet. The designs are by a wide variety of crochet artists. The instructions for each design did not include a skill level. There are some that I would suggest for beginners who have had some experience (scarves and such) and others that are more advanced. All in all, a nice set of patterns for fun crocheting.

Compilation of afghans that can be found in other crochet books, not for beginners!
The book is beautifully designed with written patterns and instructions, however there are a few typos.1. I am working on the chevron bedspread and already had a mistake in the instructions which was easily fixed.2. A few of those afghans have been already published in magazines and are available online.3. If you are a beginner, in my opinion, it isn't for you.4. Lack of instructions: for example, lack of explanations on how to crochet a foundation single crochet.5. Some of those designers have videos tutorials on some of those projects: Marly Bird, Bonnie Barker.6. Most of the yarn used are quite expensive.7. Instructions are basic and no description of the stitch used ( at least for mine which I knew just by the look) and no pattern instructions on how to adjust the size.It is a good book to add to your crochet library but it can be deceiving a d that's why, I gave only a 3⭐If you like challenges, go for it.
