Buffalo Games - Sunset Beach - 2000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle with Hidden Images

I have been a "puzzle junkie" for over 50-years, and as an engineer, I have always enjoyed completing puzzles in time-frames considered very quick by fellow puzzle junkies. I was excited to find this brand of puzzles by a company who still manufactures in the USA, and I really liked the artwork options offered by Buffalo Games. The puzzle arrived on-time and in a factory-sealed box, (which is sealed VERY well). After carefully sifting through all of the pieces to separate out the border pieces twice, it was determined that there were missing border pieces and that it had border pieces that did not belong. I contacted Buffalo Games via the email address listed on their website, for their customer service department and I also submitted a "missing pieces" form on their website, which I never received a response from in 2-days. Therefore, completely frustrated with the time and effort that I lost on this defective puzzle, and with the lack of response from Buffalo Games, I submitted for a full refund from Amazon and have decided to avoid Buffalo Games Puzzles in the future. At least the offshore-made puzzles that I have previously purchased were capable of being successfully completed.

This puzzle is amazing and mind boggling at the same time. Unfortunately, I Can only give 4 stars because a lot of the pieces are coming apart or bending at the connection (the male end) and because of that the puzzle is not completely flat. That being said, the colors are so beautifully vibrant that it makes for a gorgeous finished product. I chose this puzzle so I could have something to do rather than sitting behind the TV when I am home. This keeps my mind active and it has drawn my family together in a positive way.

I really enjoy puzzles. I have quite a few. I’m giving the review an extra star because I love that the brand comes with a poster of the puzzle so I don’t have to try to figure out the box picture. That’s where my positive review ends.I’ve never had this issue with any other brand, but when I got this I noticed immediately that dozens of pieces arrived damaged in the box. About 15-20 pieces had torn back pieces, or still attached paper backs. After removing all of the pieces, I even found some of the torn backs in the bottom. But about 30 pieces were bent and/or misshapen. Some were so bad, I had to physically bend them so that they would fit to their partner piece. I opted to lay heavy books on top of many pieces so that those damaged wouldn’t be damaged further by placing them with correct or incorrect partner pieces. The heavy books made a slight different for some pieces. The finished puzzle looks pretty rough. Many pieces are sticking out, and it made it really hard to find any joy in the process. It was really stressful.I’m seeing many reviews similar. This seems like a quality control issue with the company, which is a shame.I’ve attached pictures of some pieces for examples.

My puzzle had many pieces where the little knobs were bent and delaminated. There were also many pieces still together where the cutting process did not reach through to the back. When separated the backs would tear and the back layer from one piece would remain with another. The incomplete cutting must have occured over much of the puzzle, as many of the separated pieces also had damaged backs.The quality of the Buffalo puzzles I've purchased has been inconsistent. Some are flawless, while others are like this puzzle.Fortunately I tried assembling the puzzle in time to return it. But my puzzle often site for a long time before I try them, so Buffalo has eliminated itself as a brand I'll buy.

Revised review: just finished this puzzle and there were three bottom right corner pieces missing. I emailed the company directly and never heard back????No clue who at Buffalo Games this idea was but some of the pieces intentionally have these tiny fragments that you need to use to connect one piece to another. Most of them came broken or completely missing making it really hard to figure out where they go. I gave it so many stars because we love Buffalo puzzles. Usually they are very well made and this is the first time we’ve gotten one like this. If I could recommend they NEVER do this again. It sucks!

I am a huge Ravensburger fan and due to the low Ravensburger supply I thought I would give this Buffalo Puzzle a try. It is an OK puzzle but it is no Ravensburger. I have several complaints:1) Too glossy. Ravensburgers tend to have more of a Matte finish and this Buffalo is a but difficult to do in some lighting due to how shiny it is.2) Too many pieces fit where they should not. It is amazing how difficult this puzzle is to discern pieces that look almost the same. I find myself taking this puzzle apart more than any other puzzle I have ever done.3) Too dark. This is partially my fault as I did see the picture before I bought it. However, I had really hoped that it would be a bit more vibrant. After the cabin, sky, purple, and deer are done, the rest of the pieces all look the same.4) On a bright note, no blue dust. A pretty clean experience with with Buffalo puzzle dust5) On another bright note, of course all the pieces were there. I have never done a puzzle that I did not eventually find every piece. They are always all there.Overall, this is not a great puzzle. I really have struggled to keep the family engaged. We all can't wait for this puzzle to be over so that we can start on a different one.

This was my second 2000 piece Bullalo Games puzzle and they both were excellent. The art is outstanding and constructing the puzzle is very challenging. If you purchase this, or any 2000 piece Buffalo puzzle make sure you have a large table that won't be used for other purposes for two weeks to three weeks unless you are a puzzle master. The only problem with this particular puzzle is that after I finished my wife informed me she wants a cabin exactly like this one - in the mountains.

Beautiful, traditional, rustic scene, especially appreciated in these pandemic times. Bought as a Christmas present for a family member.The box arrived damaged at one corner, but the contents intact.

I like the picture of the puzzle but when I got the puzzle and opened it up and taking the pieces out, alot of the puzzle pieces stuck together and falling apart. Alot of them bent as well. Not happy with the quality. It's as if someone else used it before but pieces stuck together. Not happy. Probably won't buy this product again!!!

I gave this puzzle to teenagers who were looking for a puzzle with 2000 pieces. It is very beautiful.
