The part of the latch you want to work on is below the six o'clock mark. You will see that on that piece is a round bar that the hooks from the other part of the latch grab on to. In front of the bar is a metal piece with an arrow on it. There is a slot along the bottom of that piece, right in front of and just below the little bar. Using a strong thumbnail or a tiny screwdriver, lever up the metal piece, using the bar as a fulcrum. You can now move the whole piece up or down the band as you like. However, when you come close to where you want it, you have to move it up or down a bit until you can close it easily. The feet underneath have to fit between the links just right. Don't force it. You may not get the exat spot you want, but you can get close enough.
