Best Mask
This has been my go-to hair mask for a long time now. I have fine (diameter of each hair shaft is small) but thick (a very large number of strands) hair, which is also wavy, curly, frizzy. It is very difficult to manage, in my own opinion and that of professional hair stylists too! I use this mask *after every* shampoo, rather than conditioner. I'll concentrate the mask at mid to ends of my hair, and then run the remainder of the mask across my roots, to give them some moisture without weighing down my roots too much. I then gently run a wide tooth comb through my hair and gently massage each section to work the mask into the strands. After that I pile my hair on top of my head, loosely with a clip and cover my hair in a plastic shower cap and do the rest of my showering (exfoliating, shaving, etc.) Every now and then, if my hair needs extra moisture and softening, I'll put a towel turban over the plastic shower cap, to trap some of the heat from my head which helps the mask penetrate into the hairs, then get out of the shower, letting the mask sit for a half hour or so before rinsing with cool/cold water. This mask has definitely helped a lot with keeping each strand moisturized and preventing breakage, which occurs for me when my fine hairs are overly dried out. It does the most work for minimizing frizz, so then I only need my everyday styling products to do the rest. For my hair type, this mask is NOT too heavy but I have friends with thin (quantity of strands) fine (diameter of strands) hair, who said it made their hair look oily and weighed down. It smells *delicious*, with a hint of honey. The formula itself is very thick and is in a soft, solid form in the tub, which makes it feel very luxurious and nourishing. This is one of the only products I buy in bulk with automatic orders!

It works for me
I use this oil to restore hair for 30 minutes and under a cap that warms up. I do keratin straightening and often use an iron, and so I manage to get the desired recovery effect after these procedures. Just like applying and washing off the mask, I haven't tried it. I don't think the effect will be like that. And I also like its pleasant smell.

GREAT MASK
I have purchased thus product in thd past. I like Sheamoisture alot. The smell is amazing, leaves hair soft and shiny. Only issue not alot of slip. Will be buying again, for now. UPDATE: this is still my go to deep conditioner. It still works Great. Would highly highly recommend

A (Damaged) Hair Story Journey.
For years, I wore my hair naturally. My hair type was fine and curly, but thick (see pic in white jacket). It was even longer than it was in that pic, at one time. Two things happened that changed that: 1). I went to a cosmetology (and hair) college and a young lady literally burned my hair. To the root. I didn’t know much about hair care then, but felt like something was “off.” I went to wash it and it didn’t move. Literally. It did not move. And I couldn’t understand it. My hair was rough like Brillo pad and later came out in clumps. 2). I had my damaged hair braided and my hair was combed out with a THIN-toothed comb with no spaces. A NO NO, if your hair is damaged. NEVER let ANYONE use a thin comb on your hair. You’ll lose even MORE of your hair. The two pics just with my ears clearly show how much hair was taken out versus how thick it was in the white jacket, before any of this happened. Now, what do I do? I quickly started researching and looking for ways to restore my hair. I’m determined to make it look good, even while it’s growing back, defying the odds in my early 50s. I found this product. There are three products that are shaping and moisturizing my hair right now that I use, along with massaging my scalp. I also clipped a TINY edge of the end of my hair to keep it from unraveling further. Mind you, my hair feels like straw compared to what is was before, silky and curly. But, the bright side is, coarse hair has ALWAYS been beautiful to me. So what was meant for bad, I’m turning into beauty. I instantly noticed how my hair had some moisture back. It didn’t feel as DRY as much as it had before. It was SUPER dry, before I used this. My whole HEAD was dry and damaged. I use THREE products that are helping me on my hair journey: see pics above. 1) this product, 2). RAW Batana oil (that I leave in about 10-20 minutes with a steamer: it recommends washing out after 5 minutes) 3). Olive oil or black oil, since you’re not supposed to leave Bataan Oil in your hair. MASSAGE your scalp. On the phone? Massage your scalp. On the way home? Massage your scalp. Put the olive or banana oil in and massage it. Watching tv? Massage your scalp. When I wash my hair, I use Coconut Milk conditioner. Sometimes, all I do is wash it out, with nothing, and let it AIR DRY. Remember that HEAT is NOT your friend, if your hair is damaged. And thin combs. NO. Make sure if and when you comb it, the teeth are SPACED out or you’ll lose more healthy hair that’s trying to grow. With that being said, the two pics (with blue earrings) is how it turned out now. This happened only about three weeks ago (the braids and hair loss with thin toothed comb). Already, I can feel it trying to work and get back on track. Right now, I have to manage the damaged hair to get to the healthy hair. And I’m doing it from my scalp, while making the damaged hair look good. And it does. Don’t let anyone tell you if your hair is damaged that you can’t turn it into ART and RESTORE it. You can. Focus on your scalp and use this moisturizer to beautify yourself in the process. I’ll review this again, if I know that it’s helping at least one sister out there. If it is, like this review and I’ll give an update in a few months. I know we can’t email each other for questions, so that’s the only way I’ll know it’s helping. Wishing all women success with your own hair stories out there.
