Wow....Fantastic!
So I've had just about every coffee out there from traditional to mushroom to peanut, but not the monkey poo one. So my favorites I've landed on are Kona since I drank it like crazy when I worked at 6am and it just brings me back to that time and just love the taste. The other favorite is Giatemala Antigua because I discovered it while actually in Antigua when I was there to bring hone my daughter we adopted in 2007. Most of guatemala served a sort of Cuban strong brewed coffee or "Cafe con leche" .... coffee with milk.... and they literally poured your cup milk in one hand coffee in the other and it was poured 50/50. It was pretty good since the coffee was strong enough to come through all that milk. I usually take just a little milk in my coffee and that's it. So when we visited Antigua and I tasted the coffee I loved its flavor. I bought several pounds in colorful burlap sacks and brought it home. When we landed on our connector in Dallas Fort Worth.... well I forgot to claim the coffee on my customs slip so I had to stand there while men with assault rifles stood by and soldiers went through my entire luggage with even my dirty underwear for all to see. Lol. Anyhow.... so I still buy it from time to time for many reasons. I have never had Tanzania Peaberry. It might be partly that I just cleaned and descaled my Technivorm Moccamaster but this coffee is just out of site. I tend to lean towards African coffees when I'm taking the emotional aspect out of it like the role it plays with Kona and Antigua. I love the flavor of African... like Ethiopia coffee a lot and this is where I land on taste and smell alone. This Tanzania Peaberry has knocked my socks off. It's gone to near the top of my list. I don't know what it is about the bean or the roast or region or what but I will have to read up on it now. So now I have to find it for a little cheaper. I'll pay $12 for a pound of beans all day and it will be my daily ritual for a long while. Pushing $20 though and I won't pay to drink it everyday. I will say that since the beans are smaller it seems like it takes less in my grinder hopper as I just fill it flush to where it comes out of the recess where the burrs are and typically its above that for other beans. I know that's just in my head though since the beans pack down in there better since they're smaller and well 16 oz is 16 oz no matter what.

Nice bean but may need a bit more roast
This was a new tryout for me. The Nitin Estate peaberry was a nice bean with a good aroma and acidity and a fair price. Maybe it's because I use a Delonghi Magnifica espresso machine to prep my morning cup of cafe au lait but I felt that the flavor lacked "punch" compared with the Kenya AA bean from Ruthagati Co-op that I have used in the past. Is toasting to City roast instead of to Medium roast a possibility?

Surprisingly Good
Actually good! I usually do pour over and buy beans from a local roaster. Sometimes I just don’t have the time to do this or I’m just feeling lazy. I grind the beans and pop them into my Keurig pod. The flavor is nutty and smooth. The beans were roasted only a month ago, which I was surprised with how fresh they were. It’s a great and simple medium roast. Much much better than any of the cheaper beans I’ve ever bought online or at the store.

Co-worker thinks it's the best, tasted sour to me
This coffee tasted sour to me. Volcanica had reached out to me after my purchase, so I emailed them and they indicated that people have different tastes and that was probably what was going on. I gave the coffee to a co-worker who was just getting into drinking good coffee and she loved it - she said it was the smoothest coffee she had ever had. For me, I would have given this a 1 star - it just tasted bad to me. For my co-worker, she would have given this 5 stars - it was that good for her. I think my taste for coffee may be significantly different than other people. I had set my co-worker up with a similar brewing setup as me and we both came up with opposite experiences with this coffee. Overall I think this is probably a great coffee, but not for me.

If it wasn't for the bitter rancid taste, it would have no taste at all.
I have ordered Tanzania Peaberry in the past. It has always been fine. Not this time. The beans were the correct size. However, they were pale brown and looked very dry, not oily. When I first opened the bag, The aroma was fantastic. I was looking forward to a great cup of coffe. I ground it on medium using my burr grinder; I used a V60 filter; I used 20 g of beans for 320 g of water just off the boil. I bloomed the coffee for 60 seconds using 100g of water; the remaining water was added in two more batches. I know how to make coffee. The first hint of trouble was when I held it to my nose to smell. There was none of the original aroma. The taste was thin, bitter and VERY rancid. I didn't believe it could be that bad. I adjusted the grind, moved to a Melita #2 filter and retried. Same result. It was disgusting. I went back to bag. By now all that lucious original aroma was gone. It now smelled like it tasted. Rancid. It was roasted on 4-11-25. It is now 6-2-25. The beans were not THAT old. If your goal is a smooth cup of coffee with great depth of flavor, stay away. This qickly was eating a hole in my stomach. The Peaberry I get from my local WinCo is fresher and more flavorful. At any price point, much less Volcanica's higher price, the coffee is a rip off.

Excellent find!
Back in my college days, the on-campus coffee shop often had Kenya AA and Tanzanian Peaberry available, and I always loved them. Over the years following graduation I continued to consume coffee, using different brewing methods. Various companies I worked for always provided coffee, but the quality was lower than I'd been used to, and I just accepted things like Starbucks, etc. A few years down the line, post-marriage and kids, I was wondering why my enthusiasm for coffee had waned, and began searching for reasons. My wife had been purchasing our coffee from THE large bulk items store--you know the one--so I looked there first. Tried numerous different coffees from there, only to be somewhat disappointed. Bought an Aeropress and Hario V60, and learned how to make better coffee. An improvement, but still lacking a bit with the coffee I was using, so I started trying local roasters. WAY better! And then I started thinking about the coffees I had been exposed to in college: Kenya AA and Tanzania Peaberry, neither of which were available from the local roasters. Eventually I noticed reputable roasters were selling on Amazon, so I started searching for better quality coffee there, and found Volcanica. I was hesitant at first, as I'd never heard of them, and wasn't sure about the quality. Took a chance on the Tanzania Peaberry, and was pleasantly surprised. It was fantastic! Tried the Kenya AA next, and was equally impressed. I look forward to trying a number of their other offerings, as they have many options. If you're on the edge, I'd recommend putting aside hesitancy on this brand, and give them a try; I think you'll be very satisfied.

Not sure what grind would be best for this bean?
I tried several settings. Fine for espresso and less fine for K-cup refill. The K cup was a total waste of 10g of beans as it came out hot water. Even the espresso is weak. I"m not sure what this bean needs to be a real cup of coffee vs. a cup of tea like water? I don't think or feel it's worth almost $20 for a 12 oz. bag of it....I'll use it somehow...

The taste is the best coffee I've ever had
I absolutely love these coffee beans, I normally have milk with my coffee with these I don't need it, the taste is so smooth, yes they are expensive but its definitely worth every penny
