Kurze Freude - Short happiness

Comfortable, gives me 2 in height
For years I have been putting insoles inside all of my shoes to make me taller, I learned my lesson, I ended up with major sciatica and back pain that required epidural shots and almost to surgery. Platform shoes keeps your feet level so they are not hard on your back. I will never again put insoles to give me additional hot in my shoes. These pair of boots give me 2 in height but they look normal and are very comfortable.

Break it in and add an insole and it'll be amazing
Love these boots, break in process was painful but expected. After breaking it in, it molds to your feet and feels pretty comfortable. Would give it 5 stars but I needed insoles to make it perfectly comfortable for all day use without feeling sore.

My first pair of docs
I was an 80’s/90’s kid. Heard about Dr martens but couldn’t afford a pair. As an adult (old man) and working in a profession that requires lots of walking and standing, a coworker recommended these relics of the past. After much research, I viewed Dr Mart as more fashion than work boot. The former British oldies were military work boots. But my coworker raves about the comfort. So, I purchased the Jardons. Mostly because of the zipper. It took 2 returns to get the right size. I’m a solid 8.5/9 in bates or any other boot. An 8 and 9 was too small (toes at end of boot). Not sure what the “these run big” thing is, unless it refers to width. I settled on a unbelievable size 10 (never worn a 10, but hey, maybe foots still growing). To me, they run small. First impression out of box: pretty cool. However, they looked synthetic. Tongue said made in Vietnam and confirmed leather uppers. Bummed these are not the British made version. After 2 months of wearing, 5 days a week, 10 hours a day. I’m still breaking these darn things in. What I like: the look, zipper, high polish, easy to clean, squishy soles (adds to comfort on concrete), adds a bit of height. What I don’t like: pain to break in (still), hard on the heel (rubbing), sub-standard quality, price. I’ll elaborate on the quality. Couple of the yellow stitches are missed (like should show as a single but doubled over. Saw it in another review). The tongue pulls to the side and will not straighten out. Requires monthly conditioning (shoe grease) or the leather well probably crack. My pair are already showing creases, which experience shows will crack in drier weather conditions. Overall: not worth the price point. Not now. Research of independent reviews, show that Dr Martens quality has depreciated over the years, while price point went up. If you have the money to blow and happen to be a teen wanting to make a statement, go for it. For the working man, stick with what you know. Pics- covered the yellow stitching with black marker. Just encase you’re wondering.
