With the latch in the up position, you press firmly it onto the valve on your tire to seal off the escaping air, then move the latch to the down position. You then squeeze down the lever on the gauge part to add air to the tire until the gauge reads the correct amount for your tire. Then raise the latch to release it from the tire valve and screw the cap (if you had one) back onto the tire valve.Cheers!

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being most accurate, how do you rate its accuracy?

I used it couple of times in last 2 years and lately the reading has been off by approximately 10 psi. It looks to be a good quality product but considering that i used it only a few times and its off by 10 psi makes me wonder how good it really is.
