I bought the persimmon laundry detergent because of my OLD MAN odor. Combined with the persimmon body soap, it works wonders. You may have to use both. I wish it was cheaper but, it is what it is. It keeps me smelling like a human. Not much scent to both products but they work. Another option is washing the t-shirts and hanging out on the sun to dry.

Great product, the only one on the market to remove the oily smell of nanonal, which is what old pillow or unwashed teenagers’s hair smell like. No regular soap can eliminate the smell. It seems to permeate fabrics permanently. Except this product with persimmon tannin from Japan. But now it is discontinued. Darn!

I just discovered this laundry detergent, and it is wonderful! It cleans exactly as advertized. Now, less than a month later, it is no available. I was planning to buy 6 bottles of it, since it goes fast in the washing machine. But now, i am at a loss as what to use. I can find nothing like it in stores.

Very effective. My stinky former roommate left behind a couple blankets in such bad shape they were smelling up the cedar closet they were in. You know you are dealing with some powerful stench when the *cedar closet* is made to smell, rather than it making things smell like cedar!I felt this was not the fault of the blankets and they deserved salvage if it was possible. So I bought this, soaked one in a bucket with it overnight, following directions (two tablespoons to a gallon), washed it the next day, and the odor is GONE.Several reviews talk about how much product it takes to wash clothes with this, which is not how it's meant to be used. It takes very little to do a presoak, which is what the item is for, like it says right on the front label. However, to be fair, it's still pricey.So, to sum up:Pro: WorksCons: Expensive, and I'd like a mildly fragranced option, which is not offered

The fragrance is not offensive, but I use with my regular laundry detergent and softener. I will probably buy another bottle. Use mainly in the wash for my towels, sheets, throws, and dog bedding.

My husband can get that old man smell sometimes. Not always. But certain articles of clothing have an interaction with his body chemistry and it happens. I've used this for a while and I really can't tell if it works. It has no real smell. I think the spray worked better but I haven't been able to get that for months.

My husband unfortunately has developed the nonenal smell….this helps in our wash to neutralize it….i also put a small amount and rest with water in a sprayer and spritz his pillow every morning and the head rest of couches ….also helps neutralize my young 20’s boys clothes smell…..draw back expensive.

I’m not sure if it works or not. There’s no scent really. And we’re not that old-but after husband’s recent surgery I could smell “old man” coming from him and washed all our clothes & bedding in this. I’ve worked with public for decades and know the nonenal scent way too well. I know people think they can skip a day from bathing, but just don’t. The persimmon smell doesn’t exude from this product but no smell is better than old person odor.
