No Need For A Plumber
The DrainX Swivel-Head Toilet Auger is a game changer! It literally pays for itself after just two uses, and will make your life so much easier. It’s so easy to use, is sturdy, and fixes clogs in seconds. It comes in a high quality bag, is compact, and it looks cool, too. It works as well as any plumbers auger, and it will save you money because you will no longer need to call out a plumber for $125 just to show up. Your toilet will be clog-free with the DrainX Swivel-head Toilet Auger, trust me. You can thank me later.

The difference between havng one and not having one is... pricey.
No joke: This thing pays for itself the very first time you successfully use it in lieu calling a plumber. When the plunger fails, and all hope seems lost, this is the next stage of emergency toilet clog response. One time I tried to flush a few banana peels instead of putting them in the trash where they draw those damned fruit flies (I had also been drinking pls no judge). BIG MISTAKE!! Once those things are exposed to toilet water, they become tougher than Kevlar! My toilet was plugged tighter than at any other time in history (and that's saying something). I got the DrainX Toilet Snake and commenced battle. Those banana peels fought like a mad bull but in the end DrainX Toilet Snake's robust design and durable construction emerged victorious. I was surprised at how tough banana peels can be; worse than when some a-hole flushes a copenhagen lid.

Didn't work for me and porcelain was scratched even being careful.
The product seems fairly well built, but was unable to unclog my toilet. I was extremely deliberate in placement and still managed to scratch up my porcelain. It is nowhere near as easy as it appears to be.So I'm still going to have to call a plumber AND have a scratched up toilet.1/12/11 Update:I added an extra star and a half(now 4 stars, rounded up) because their support team reached out to me about my issue. That's refreshing to see the company read the comments and want to do something about it.

Works good
Works good. I had zero experience using one of these things. I'm saving a lot of money not calling a plumber every time my new "low flow" toilet clogs up.

Looks nice but Poor workmanship
The reviews for this product seem to be really good or really bad. The one I got is REALLY BAD. Like many other reviews, the crank handle would not stay on, making it impossible to use. The quality of the metal part of the crank is of very poor quality--there were already shavings coming off when I tried to reassemble it to the shaft. I emailed DrainX directly and was told they took care of this defect. I guess I got the "old" model. It looks "pretty"' with the orange carry bag and gloves, but the workmanship is lousy.

toilet auger
I used it the day it arrived. After studying the instructions, I finally figured it out. It was not easy to clean and the plastic guard did not protect the porcelain as advertised. Maybe I will do better the next time.

Revised review, Handle fell apart during second use, contacted DrainX and they sent a replacement
The Drainx Toilet Auger Drain Plumbing Snake basically fell apart the second time I used it. Of course this was after the 30 days return window had closed. The red handle is secured to the rod with a couple of washers and they popped off while turning the handle. There is no way fix or repair the plastic handle. Product is now useless and a waste of money.Revised review:Contacted DrainX support via email. After providing photos of broken handle they quickly sent a replacement which is working as it should so far. Excellent customer service.
