I bought one about 10 years ago and really like it. Personally it’s the right size for anything. I use mine on every knife I own and my axes. On some of my wife’s longer kitchen knives it’s a little undersized but I use it as you would a steel on them and they get sharp like everything else. Works good for setting a bevel on new knives. ( I like a longer bevel than most factory knives come with) It’s a little coarse at first but over time it gets less aggressive. For the price I ordered two more. One for my craft shop and one for my hunting bag. For someone who knows how to use a stone you won’t be disappointed.

Item description states medium benchstone, but received the fine benchstone instead. Return window closed before one could be made, so just kept the fine stone. Great quality product.

Medium grit diamond stone. Good to use on a bench/tabletop. Has a hard plastic case that it is a part of. It is actually part of the lid. Once you take it apart, flip the lid upside down and it nests in the base of the case/box. The case has rubber feet to help it stay put. Mine had holes in it that would allow you to mount the stone if you wanted it to be in a fixed spot and make sure it doesn't move. I have this and the Fine stone and they both do a good job cutting dry or with water if I don't feel like getting my Smiths stones out and messing with oil.

This is a good sharpening tool

I bought this Lansky sharpening stone, and I get it picked up this afternoon -(From Amazon Locker) with the intention of sharpening my scissors.And this stone is A MUST when it comes to sharpening pocket and kitchen knives, & scissors as well.As long as you know the scissor’s sharpening procedure, this bench-stone will work wonders.I just tried it, and I can prove it works as advertised!100% recommended!
