WE USE A LOT OF THIS TAPE IN THE SHOP. IT IS A GREAT PACKAGING TAPE, BUT WE USE IT FOR MITER FOLDING CORNERS OF SHEETGOODS LIKE MDF OR VENEER PLYWOOD. IT HAS GOOD STRETCH WITHOUT BREAKING, STICKS WELL AND IN OUR CASE LEAVES LITTLE IF ANY GLUE RESIDUE ON OUR WORKPIECE. THERE ARE LESS EXPENSIVE ALTERNATIVES FOR EVERDAY PACKAGING SO THIS MAY BE OVERKILL UNLESS YOUR PACKAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT, EXPENSIVE, OR IRREPLACABLE. FOR OUR USE, THE COST IS BETTER THAN SOME OTHER SPECIALTY PRODUCTS, AND OF COURSE THE 3M NAME IS SYNONOMOUS WITH QUALITY.

If you ship anything and want to make sure the tape stays on, get this tape. It's also thick enough to make using the tape gun a lot easier - no flopping around and sticking to itself.I was hesitant to try it because of the price, but it's now my go-to packing tape.

It’s the best. It’s thick, it’s very sticky, it’s very very quiet. Couldn’t ask for better tape.

We just went through a huge move and had to pack over 200+ boxes and containers. We must've went through hundreds of rolls of tape. Who would've thought that there are so many types/varieties of tape out there and half of those types don't actually do the job. We taped up boxes and a week later all the tape unstuck from the boxes. Had to re-tape all those boxes again. Could not find this in my local big box store.This stuff works the first time and does not come unstuck. Doesn't matter the cardboard type, etc. Tape it once and done.Wasted so much money on all those other alleged heavy duty/super strong types. For next time, I will def only get this one.

I purchased the scotch box lock packaging tape in a set of 6 rolls several months ago, and overall I have been quite pleased with its performance on my boxes. The 6-roll pack has lasted me several months and is a good value for the price. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Scotch Box Lock Packaging Tape to anyone looking for a reliable and sturdy tape for their shipping and packaging needs.

Box Lock tape is super-sticky and strong; it holds well and stays sealed; it doesn’t strip, shred, or rip while on the roll; and, it’s silent when in-use/unraveling (no obnoxious screeching or scratching sounds!).I believe it’s truly worth the slightly higher price. One, maybe two, strips of this tape equals the strength and security of multiple strips of any other packing tape.This is my favorite packing tape. If the box you’re shipping is important, and/or you tend to overuse packing tape because it never feels like it’ll hold up to the possibility of a postal worker kick-dropping the package from the top of a three-story building—this tape is definitely for you.

I never thought I’d review packing tape but this stuff was the best for my recent move. It’s thick, super durable, and the right size to close a box securely with just one piece. It doesn’t bunch up easily so it’s easy to use. The thickness also makes it easy to peel back and remove when unpacking.

Best tape for packing... Strong, flexible and resists tearing.
