Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Old Republic Volume 1

I really enjoyed playing SWTOR MMO, but never had the time to really experience the full stories of the characters.This comic book collection allows you to really dive into the Old Republic's struggles and enjoy the conflicts that plagued a galaxy torn by conflict.

Beautifully illustrated, excellent quality, very happy chappy.

Probably a very good book to read, but I was massively put off by the condition of the book. When it states new, you'd expected a new sealed book. Not worn edges, folded pages, bent and dented covers

Allgemein:Auch wenn diese Reihe mittlerweile nicht mehr Teil des Kanons ist, hat sich Marvel glücklicherwiese dazu entschieden diese Comicserie als Teil der Legends neu aufzulegen. Bis auf Leuten, die unbedingt Wert darauf legen die Originale von Dark Horse zu besitzen, würde ich jedem dazu raten diese Version zu kaufen, da selbst gebrauchte Bücher dieser Serie von Dark Horse mittlerweile mindestens 70€ kosten.Zur Story:Die Story spielt zur Zeit des Mandalorischen Krieges, also noch bevor dem ersten KOTOR. Der Padawan Zayne Carrick muss mitansehen wie seine Freunde von ihren Meistern umgebracht werden und ihm die Morde anhängen. Fortan befindet er sich auf einer verzweifelten Verfolgungsjagd quer durch die Galaxie und versucht einerseits seine Unschuld zu beweisen und andrerseits zu verstehen, warum seine Freunde ermordet wurde.Eine kleine "Warnung" an dieser Stelle:Auch wenn Zayne und seine Gefährten auch ab und zu mal unfreiwillig in den Mandalorischen Kriegen eingreifen, sind der Großteil der Abenteuer für die Galaxie nocht relevant. Wer also einen Protagonist bevorzugt, der wie Revan oder Luke Skywalker das Schicksal der Galaxis mitentscheidet, wird mit dieser Reihe also nicht unbedingt glücklich.

I really liked this collection, you get such a large amount of content for a great price. John Jackson Miller weaves an amazing story over 50 issues, so you will definitely need to pick up the rest of the series after reading this. The second volume has already been released, but the last one isn't out yet. If you're a first time reader, you may prefer to wait until all the volumes are released before you buy this one so can read through it all at once. I love the cast of characters in this book, especially the Gryph, the humorous scoundrel. These stories may not be considered canon but they are amazing, and considering they are over 3000 years before the movies it's not like they will contradict anything. I recommend this comic for any Star Wars fan, particularly if you played the Knights of the Old Republic video games.
