I don't see how this installs on the x3 max because the center is open between the driver and passenger seats. any advice would be appreciated.

It will not mount between front seats on a max. only between rear seats

How does this install?

You pop of the plastic piece between the seats. There are press in snaps at the top that you give a slight tug to release. There are built in hooks at top and bottom of the new bag. Snap those on and reinstall the plastic cover with the new bag attached in its original position. Should take about 2 minutes. Very easy install.

Can anyone measure the storage space inside the bag? Photos would also be a great help!

Storage is enough for masks,googles and gloves. Very duranle

Will this bag fit a 2020 maverick trail 1000

Mine is on a 2021 x3 and it fits perfect , can’t say whether or not it will fit yours, what i do no is my buddy bought one for his 2021 x3 and it was the wrong one, so they do make different ones

Big price for small space

Well made but pretty shy on space. Doesn’t really seem to hold much of anything other than personal effects. Not big enough for our first aid kit can’t fit drive belt either. Few bottles of water... couple phones... door bags and front seat bags are more useful. It looks nice but not really functional. Made of top quality materials

Best Storage Add-on One Can Buy

First Class Product, works as advertised, took less than 2 minutes to snap into my Maverick X3s. Unlike the other product on amazon, this product is a “formed” solid storage system similar to a suitcase, not a flimsy dufflebag-shaped storage compartment. Definitely a MUST-HAVE!!!
