Review: One of my favourite sketchbooks - I’ve used a lot of sketchbooks in my time, and this one is one of my all time favourites. The paper is smooth and a beautiful soft white, making it a great option for most media. It opens very flat too so I can easily create images across a whole spread. Im not fussed when paper crinkles on me so I’ve been able to use gouache and acrylic in the sketchbook, as well as marker, ink, graphite and collage. If you prefer paper to stay smooth and pristine though I would avoid using much water based media in this book. I haven’t had any issue with ink or water based markers ghosting, but alcohol markers definitely will bleed through, especially if you layer a lot. Again it’s not something that bothers me in a sketchbook in the slightest. The best part is the durability and craftsmanship of the book itself. I’ve used Leuchttrum notebooks for years so I already knew this one would hold up. In addition to my artistic mistreatment of my sketchbooks, I also tend to throw them in my bag, bend and otherwise stress the bindings, remove pages etc. Basically I’m a walking durability test. So far this one has really held up! Especially the elastic closure which at less than a quarter of the way through the pages is already earning its keep. All in all, this sketchbook is a great value in my opinion. There are cheaper ones out there that definitely serve a function, but if you want a book that will essentially become a living art piece through use, I would strongly recommend giving this one a try!

It’s absolutely fabulous. It doesn’t bleed with alcohol or water based markers, great texture and holds up very well in my bag. Goes with me pretty much everywhere and is easy to fill up. Also a cute pocket on the end for small sketches that are loose, and a strap to help it close nicely when the pages get inevitably full. Great value. Will be getting another after I finish this one!!!

Nice thick paper that can take a handful of materials pretty easily if you’re careful with the amount of medium you’re putting on the page. I love the size, bright lemon color and the shape of the pages.
