These map protractors are better than the ones I used for 24 years in the army; and those were free. Much more durable and the printing resists wear better. They may seem a bit pricey, but if you use them frequently, they are really worth every penny. Happy navigating!

I wanted the same one I used in the Army. This is it. I really like it. Makes taking a bearing easier. Works well with my compass and topo maps. I like how it gives you the reverse bearing so you don't need to do the math in your head. Makes it faster and easier. I like it and I'm glad got it.

I looked for a scale for a long time until I discovered this. A great find. A real flash back to my map reading days in the army. Still a tried and true way to read a paper map when all electronics fail.

Simple to use, very similar to the one I carried for 20 years in the Marine Corps. Get a good FM book on military map reading to learn how to use it.

This protractor is almost the same as the one I was issued for Army ROTC, and actually is more accurate and more solid than the one I was issued.
