will work for combining two audio signals on one input - just be smart
i see a lot of reviews on this product stating that you will wreak havoc on your components or suffer from horrible audio if you try to combine two outputs into one input. to this i have to say, sure, if you don't know what you're doing. but if you're smart about it, and only run one component at a time, you shouldn't have any issues. the trick is to combine line outputs from two similar devices. for instance, i combined the outputs from my dvd player and a media streaming console. the signal strength/resistance, and subsequently, the volume of each device is the same when coming across my tv speakers. if you try to put an adapter from a headphone output together with a component's audio line output, you're gonna have problems with gain levels and overall volume.for me, this setup works perfectly when trying to connect three devices to an old tv with only two source selections in my son's toyroom. the wii goes to a/v 1, the dvd player video is rca and the media streamer video is component on a/v 2, and the audio also gets combined on a/v 2 via this cable. works like a charm!anyway, onto the product review. the actual cable does not feel any more durable than the standard rca audio cables that come packaged with most entertainment devices these days. the regular male jacks are also about standard. the piggyback jacks are nothing too special, until you remember that they're piggyback jacks and can combine two audio sources (and yes, of course, split one audio source into two). this is absolutely the only thing that makes this cable special. no fancy gold plating or cable shielding exists with this cable.if shipping was not included for free, i would have not spent $3.36 for this. i have plenty of rca audio cables laying around that i could have simply spliced together to acheive the same result. really, the main reason i got this cable was to prove that you actually can combine two outputs into one input. don't let the nay-sayers fool you.

Great cords
I recently bought a tape deck and these cords are wonderful for the input ports. New Receivers are not made with an Audio out now, These cords bridge that gap. Great product.

Good for when you run out of RCA inputs on your receiver
Needed to add a record player to my receiver and was out of input slots so I added this. Works as advertised. My only complaint is that when the record player is connected direct it is quite a bit louder than when connected through this piggyback cable.

Simple Solution To big Problem
Saved me a lot of headaches trying to split stereo outputs from a single source. I have purchased 6 sets of these recently, so I could take a single stereo output from my TV audio output, 300 CD Player audio output, Three CD Player audio output, DVD Player audio output, Remote Cordless Headphone Amp audio output, and other media audio outputs, and feed them all into two different stereo amplifiers. One stereo amplifier powers a total of 4 speakers on the back of the house, the other amplifier powers four speakers inside of the house. Lot cheaper to do it this way as opposed to buying one very expensive amplifier that would drive 8 individual speakers. Was going to split some spare audio cables and solder them together, glad I found these before I wasted all that time trying to separate coaxial shields. Good price.

Good with two flaws
So this is how my modest sound system is setup. Originally the RCA audio cables fed from the TV to my Griffiin Evolve speakers, They both have left and right (red & white) female ports. The Griffin speakers give me the option to select either Mono or Stereo sound. Of course with stereo, I can distingushly hear the left and right channels from my speakers. My speakers only have on set of audio inputs ports. I wanted these piggyback cables so I can also run my Airport Express into those speakers as well without having to swap cables. The two main issues I ran into with theses cables happen when It was all setup:1) Because the Airport Express output doesn't have a dedicated left and right female port, the default sound was mono, even if the song was recorded as stereo. That's fine, however the piggyback cable will always prioritize the piggybacked source so it was always mono sound even if the sound was coming from the TV which had dedicated left and right (red & white) outputs. I have to disconnect the RCA male end of the cable running to my Airport Express every time I want to hear stereo sound from my TV.2) the other flaw also came from its prioritization. It will always prioritize the volume level of the piggybacked source, which in my case is a lower volume setting from the Airport Express. I have to again disconnect the piggybacked cable every time I want to hear the full sound from my TV.If you're very picky about the sound setup, then i wouldn't recommend this cable. I'll have to deal with this setup until I can a more useful solution and seeming how inexpensive it is, it's not really worth returning.

It works and is dirt cheap, what else could you want?
I bought this cable to have one side going from the output of my television to my stereo. The piggyback part is connected to my stereo through a 3.5mm to rca splitter. This allows me to use my stereo as a surround sound OR as an entertainment stereo. I can have my television playing through it and the piggy back has priority, so if I plug my ipod into it, it will take over the television sound. I have not noticed issues with quality, I commonly watch blue ray dvds on my television and enjoy the sound very much. For the $6-7 that I paid for this I am more then satisfied. Again I am using this cable to make 2 outputs go into 1 input and have had no issues at all. So for the reply saying the cable isn't good for that... I am doing it and have been for 2 years now and still like it :) Bought oct 11, 2011
