Excellent item, very helpful especially for autism
Excellent item. Very pleased with purchase. My partner has autism and these helped amazingly with his overload. They are a good size too. Most headphones for autistic people are bright coloured because autistic adults are not really catered for very well. These are just brilliant and have made life that little bit easier. They arrived very quickly. Very happy, thanks.

Saved me from major headaches!
I'm certainly no expert on ear defenders, as these are only the first pair I have ever bought. However, for what it's worth I thought I would share my opinion of them nevertheless in case it helps anyone.I don't use them for what most people would wear them for (using power tools etc), but instead needed them for more general activities due to being a sufferer of severe tinnitus. Hence any kind of noise aggravates my ear ringing condition so I bought these for daily tasks which induce a headache (mostly vacuuming or going shopping). In this respect they work really well for me but what I found even more useful was how good they are at preventing the noise of smoke alarms. Incidentally, I have an annoying neighbour who sets theirs off regularly, which also triggers my alarm simultaneously as our flats are linked like that. Anyway, I have tried a variety of earplugs in such situations but they don't block out the noise anywhere near as effectively as these ear defenders did. I could even stand in the same room as the alarm without any damage or aggravation to my hearing. Now as I said I have no frame of reference regarding what these are like when compared to other brands of ear defenders, but I would certainly say they performed better than earplugs, unless I'm just not inserting those correctly? As for comfort, they are lightweight and although feel tight at first they nevertheless don't leave you feeling like your head is being squished together from each side or anything like that. I also thought at first that they may be too small as they didn't seem to come down enough to fully cover my ears. However, once they are on and in place, the padded headband softens a little and within a few seconds they subsequently move down to fit properly over your ears. Well they do in my case at least, and think I have an average sized head.Lastly, and quite important for my intended purposes, they don't look too bulky and ugly. Obviously I still get weird stares from some people when I'm walking around the supermarket in them for instance, but even so, I suspect many people would simply assume they were headphones (due to their similar appearance). So in summary, if you happen to be a fellow sufferer of tinnitus I would definitely recommend these. Unless you have an overly large head of course.

Ear Defenders that are Slim and work just as well as bulky ones.
Some reviews say the headband isn't very adjustable which is not right. They extend 1.25 inches downwards on the metal wires. Some reviews say they are a tight fit. The pressure on the head is part of isolating the sound and shows good quality compared to cheap ear defenders. I would call it firm pressure rather than tight. They also press tighter if not extended to sit on the head and around the ears properly. I am an adult male and can easily wear them over a cap too.Nothing will completely block out sound- ever; but these worn whilst also using ear plugs will nearly get you there. I bought these because they look like headphones, being slim; rather than looking like you're on a building site and need a hard hat too. Some amazing ear plugs are by IsolateĀ ISOLATEĀ® MiNi Earplugs - Revolutionary Aerospace Aluminium Ear Protectors / Ear Plugs / Ear Protection ; I recommend those if you want the equivalent noise blocking but without the bulk, or any pressure on the head, and to block out loudness of noise but still hear music or hold a conversation. With those the foam wears out and are for a slightly different purpose. With these ear defenders there's no 'running cost' and they simply block out all noise very effectively.

Nice design, not suitable for adults.
Pros have a nicely padded headband. Adequate padding around ear piece. Cut noise by about 60% great if you're in a noisy environment but still need to hear. For example bought for an ASD person to wear at concert. Sturdy made, product does not look inferior. Cons even though they fold are still quite bulky to carry around. A previous pair I owned, which turned sideways and much flatter proved to be much easier too transport in a bag. Not enough adjustment to headband making them a small fit, are also quite tight fitting on the head which after a while the compression can cause discomfort. For the price not to bad a product, would not recommend for adults.

Great quality and performance
Great quality and do the job well. I have tinnitus so it's always great to protect my ears whilst doing loud diy jobs etc. However my wife snores like a jack hammer, and because of this we usually sleep in separate beds despite only being 39! Howeve we have a trip to Malta booked for next week. With only one bed between us something drastic needs to happen if I'm gonna get any sleep. Therefore I will be equipping these along with some earbuds playing white noise. I've asked her to re-enact her rediculous snoring so I can perform a sound test. And I'm glad to report she will be no match for my setup. I will sleep despite her best efforts.

Was pleasantly surprised by how good these ear defenders looked on arrival
Was pleasantly surprised by how good these ear defenders looked on arrival .Not as bulky as many other models and fold down quite small for travel .My son hasnt taken them off since they arrived .He has Autism and wears mainly outdoors to reduce sound in crowded and noisy places .I was abit concerned as others said they were too tight for adults but as they were so cheap thought Id order and try them .They do feel abit tight at first but must be comfortable as my son would have complained and refused to wear .Also as they are less bulky they look like hes wearing headphones so less conspicuous.Would order another pair
