Illustrated Stories for Bedtime

Great for 5 years old.. filled with drawings and not too much text so they don't get bored.

Beautifully illustrated book for toddler from around 5 or 6 years. Lots of full page illustrations but the content is not suitable for reading to a younger audience. Will be returning.

Wonderful story book. Beautiful illustrations on every page. My 3 year old absolutely loved it - was listening to the stories with open mouth:) Definitely recommend!

I expected this to be a large format picture book, so was quite surprised when it turned out to be fat and stumpy. Not the ideal size when you’re trying to read it with a child on either side of you. The stories, however, are engaging (for the right age group) and accompanied by lovely, detailed illustrations that offer lots to talk about.I’d advise, though, that the concepts and language are a bit too advanced for very young children. Also, I found the stories just a tad long to hold the attention of a 2 and 3 year-old. The shortest one is 25 pages, the longest 60 pages, so you’re looking at up to half an hour of storytelling each time (longer if you allow time to discuss the pictures and answer the inevitable questions). It’s a shame there’s no age guide in the product description. I really don’t think it’s suitable for under fivesI’ve given up with my two, as they clearly aren’t interested at the moment (like I used to be when studying Shakespeare for O Level!). Anything that takes more than 15 minutes to read, they switch off. I’ll stick to short stories, told in rhyme, with scope for lots of funny voices, faces and gestures, and get this back out in 12 months or so and give it another go.Thanks for reading my review. Bought this for my 2 year old to read at night. The stories are a perfect short length for her concentration span. Nice pictures on each page too, so she enjoys looking while I read it. The stories are sweet and humorous. Really happy with this purchase, it's not often I review anything these days, but felt the need to on this. Appears to be plenty of stories too.

I bought this for my son's third birthday as we love to sit and read. The story's are the perfect length for him and grab his attention. It's full of great stories before bedtime. He especially likes the fact it has a hard cover and looks more like one of mummys grown up books :) definetely would recommend of your little ones enjoys story time.

The only positive thing l have to say is the book arrived promptly. Sadly l was disappointment with actual book the inside second page has been ripped out with 1/4 left intact resulting in the spine area being unstable. There is a small chuck missing from the back of the book and the edges look well worn, with white bits showing. This book was advertised as being (like new) Really.

This is the second book that we've bought in this series. They are so great! My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves the stories and it's a great step up from the likes of Julia Donaldson books before Roald Dahl. We will be buying more in the series.
