Another great purchase from Turtle Beach
I had the Turtle Beach Ear Force x41's and I loved those headsets, and had nothing but a great experience with them. and I later bought the Tritton Warheads and was extremely disappointed by them... So when it came time to buy a new headset for my Xbox One, I wanted to go with a brand I enjoyed, so I went with Turtle Beach, and I must say i am not disappointed by my purchase. They are very comfortable, I was afraid the Memory foam options would make my ears sweaty like my Trittons did, but No i have not had that problem. they are comfy and cancel out unnecessary outside noise. they didn't hurt my ears either like my old Trittons did too. I really like the braided cord on this headset, the quality is noticeable, and they look like they'll last me a long time. and I don't mind the cord to the controller, because it means they don't require batteries, which is a plus. instead of having AAA's for my Headset and AA's for my controller, I only have to swap out one source. which I don't know how much the headsets will drain the controllers battery life, but I don't mind, they have been great so far. The only drawback I have had so far, is the audio adapter that connects to the controller is a bit confusing? and I wish the volume went a little higher, I know that wouldn't be good for my hears, but sometimes I want to not even hear myself think when I'm fighting Titans in Titanfall. But the volume on them is sufficiently loud, but they could always be a bit louder... I haven't seen anything about these being surround sound, or anything. the Controllers only output stereo anyways. But the headsets still output a nice sound range, where I can tell where things are coming from. and the 50mm speakers do the job. I like these headsets, they are perfect for a gamers needs, and they also come with another mobile phone cord. and they are naturally 3.5mm jacks now, so they'll work with anything now. I read the perfect song to test a pair of headsets is Bohemian Rhapsody by queen, because the song has the entire set of highs and lows. and it sounded great. Bottom line is, they are great headsets. at a reasonable price for a gaming headset. I enjoy Turtle beaches headsets, they are durable, and last. I still have my X41's and they work fine. so i know this headset will last. great buy, hope Microsoft adds higher sound quality to the controllers soon, and I would like a higher volume setting too. Plus you can't hear yourself talk with these, Like I could my Trittons, so I hope they add that...

Greatest Headset I've Owned
So to start off, reading all of these reviews, bashing this headset left and right, they are all a bit ridiculous. I love these. They are super comfortable, the sound is great, and they are very sturdy feeling. They came beautifully packaged and the setup was very easy. Let's start with the cons so we can end on a good note. Cons - Run on controller battery. Now for me, I have the energizer rechargeable dock for my controllers, so not burning through batteries is not a problem I have, but it could be for you. - You must download the update for both the console and the controllers. Once again, not an issue I have, but if you play offline only, you may have issues, but honestly, if you have an Xbox One, an HD TV, and a premium headset, you should probably have it connected to the internet. - This one is small but can get a bit annoying, the headset is not completely wireless. They have no wires to the xbox but there is one chord that goes to the controller. I personally don't really care that there is a wire since it'll work better than any bluetooth but it's a bit long. - Lastly, you can't hear yourself talk. The former headset I had was the X11's and I liked being able to hear myself because then you could tell if it's working properly and how loud you are talking. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future update. Now for the Pros - They are very comfortable, there should be no problem playing for hours no on end. - The sound is pretty good, I still have to mess with the settings to get the best setup. - The game and chat volume can easily be changed to your preferences on the chatpad. - The Xbox One headset adapter is included, which means if you have another headset that you enjoy, you can now use them in the console without buying another adapter. - The packaging was amazing. It was like opening a gift on Christmas. Just wow. Also, good instructions for how to set up if new to the headset field. - The wire to the controller is a breakaway so if anyone/you knocks the controller down, your headphones will stay safely on your head. If anyone has any audio setups (as in on the Xbox One Home -> Settings -> Audio Settings) that work for them, please comment so I can try them out. Thanks Colin F

Overall not bad
These are pretty awesome headsets with a few minor nitpicks that could improve them to perfection. Pros: -Solid clear sound. Speakers give enough volume to hear clearly. -Outside noise is very quiet. They seal to you head so nice that you can't hear anything else. -Mic works well from what others players have told me. -Comfortable. The ear cups fit very nice. I have used them on a 5 hour gaming session with no complaits of comfort. -I like the Idea of not needing batteries. My old TBs needed batteries every month. -They are Stereo. I don't see why others are hating on these for not being 5.1. I assume people do not realize that in order to be 5.1 you need 5 speakers and a subwoofer. The set up for 5.1 requires a center speaker and 4 other speakers. Where would you put a center speaker on a headset....YOU WOULDN'T! All I demand from a headset is stereo sound not MONO. Cons: -Mic does not provide side-tone. The one feature I loved about old TBs is the mic had a monitor system. These headphones work so well at cancelling out background noise that I cannot hear myself speaking. I hope a patch fixes this so I don't end up screaming at squadmates playing games. -The headset adapter...YIKES! Horrible to figure out at first. Two buttons on the left control the ratio of game volume to chat volume. The right buttons control the overall volume. -I believe this to be a problem with Microsoft wireless transmission to the controller not the headset itself, but the sound gets slightly staticy or drops out all together for a fraction of second at times. It isn't horrible just annoying. Overall I would say these are worth it. Sound and comfort go a long way. Just be expecting to play around with the stupid adapter buttons for a few minutes to get that perfect balace.

If your serious about gaming, get these.
Pros: First off, my favorite thing about this headset is that it doesn't need batteries and doesn't need to be recharged. The highest volume on this is more than any person could ask for and I have no complaints. The audio is very clear and even though these aren't "rated" 7.1 or 5.1 they will let you know exactly where the action is going on in your game. For example in BF4 you know exactly what direction a plane or chopper is coming from before you even look. Being able to hear people move in a building your next too is a awesome plus. The ear cups on these are very comfortable and have great noise cancellation. The braided cables are a nice touch and look very cool with their xbox green trim. The Microphone quality in party chat is great however you will have to keep the mic positioned further away from your mouth then you might expect or else you may sound crackly to others in your party. This isn't due to a defect in the product though, this is just from talking too close to the microphone. Cons: A couple times while I was gaming my controller would disconnect from the console however the controller didn't turn off, then it would re connect after a few seconds. I have a feeling this is more due to the firmware of the controller and console though rather than the headset. I did update my controller and was running the latest March xbox update at the time. The console is still very fresh and has some kinks to work out, however if your looking to buy this headset your obviously an early adopter and are not new to these kinds of quirks. These will require more juice from the batteries in your controller. I currently am using a rechargeable kit on my controllers (the ones bundled with the licenses energizer controller dock). This however hasn't interrupted any of my gaming sessions that are up to 8 hours long. However rechargeable batteries deplete so only time will tell if this will be more of a problem later. If your using double A batteries this shouldn't be a problem for you as those last much longer and are guna die on you during gameplay anyways.

A good basic headset at a tad high price.
This a decent headset with decent quality sound however there are a few issues. Namely that the cost for what seems a pretty basic headset is a tad high, there is nothing outstanding for this headset to justify full purchase price other than the Turtle Beach badge. The head band is a tad tight on larger cranium a by this ensures a snug fit for most other domes. The ear pieces have adequate padding that cancel out most noise in a given area below screaming/shouting with close proximity. The ears may get a tad warm during long sessions as the padding doesn't breath well but not completely unbearable. A note for XBox One users there is NOT a voice in headset from your own channel. Repeat you cannot hear your own voice chat through the headset. There is debate whether is is by design on TBs end or a short coming of the XB1. Regardless unless the info is newer than this review you will not have voice in headset period. I got this headset for less than half the price so I was okay with the purchase but if you wanted a good headset save the money and maybe add a little more for a true wireless option it will be a better buy in the long run.

Excellent audio headset!
My wife and I just had a baby so I was in the market for a decent headset for use at night while he sleeps. I was pleasantly surprised by how great this headset is. Physically, the headset feels really high quality, the ear and headband padding feel really good and everything just feels heavy duty. The headset is very comfortable - I have a pretty large head and experience no discomfort even after long use. Audio quality is fantastic. The XO Seven uses a virtual surround system and it works surprisingly well - sounds that originate behind me in games like Thief or Titanfall actually sound like its coming from behind. It's no substitute for real surround sound but for a headset, its pretty great. The XO7 includes the new Xbox controller headset adapter, a cable to connect it to the controller, a separate cable for use with mobile devices, and a USB cable to connect the controller to the Xbox One for firmware updating (which is required to use the XO7). I do experience some audio crackle or quick drop-outs once in a while but this is an issue with the chat adapter - Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix, most likely a firmware update for the adapter. It only happens during games and only a couple times every hour or 2. Audio while watching TV, movies from Xbox Video and audio all work great with no issues. Skype also works fantastically. The boom mic is removable and the adapter gives you complete control of the overall volume as well as adjusting the volume between the game and party chat. All in all, a fantastic headset, powerful sound, great build quality and chat voice quality too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new headset for use with your Xbox One.

Great heasdset
Firstly- this is a stereo headset, NOT surround! This headset outputs audio through the Xbox One controller, not the console itself, so stereo audio is the best it can do. Second- it includes an Xbox stereo headset adapter, which I'd recommend using even on the newer Xbox One controllers since it puts volume, mic muting, and audio balance controls at your fingertips as opposed to diving into the Settings menu mid-game. Third- while this is clearly advertised and branded as an Xbox One product (what with the Xbox logos and neon green coloring and all), it is extremely versatile. Since it uses a 3.5mm connector, it can be used with the Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and PC for game audio and voice chat (not sure about voice chat on the Wii U). Additionally, it includes an adapter cable that will allow it to be used with your smartphone, laptop, or tablet. It can be used for game audio with the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita as well. With that out of the way, on to the review... DESIGN: It's a great looking headset. Everything from the headset itself to the actual packaging just screams premium. Turtle Beach is known for providing a good quality-to-price ratio and this is no exception. The headset is light and flexible, but not to the point where it feels flimsy. It offers a good amount of adjustment and the upper portion is padded in a suede like material for comfort. There are splashes of Xbox green throughout but it isn't garish at all (I can wear these on the train going to and from work and not feel embarrassed). There are plates on the side of the ear cups that are supposedly removable, allowing you to create custom plate designs on Turtle Beach's website, but I haven't been able to pry them off yet. Speaking of the ear cups, they can rotate flat for portability or for wearing around your next like a wannabe Beats By Dre-wearing hipster. The headsets also make use of a removable boom mic, and a high-quality breakaway-type braided cable design. Overall a great looking, premium feeling headset that will hold up well over time. SOUND QUALITY: Again, these are NOT surround headsets, they only output stereo audio! That being said, they sound really good. Bass has plenty of punch without being overwhelming, and the mids and highs sound great as well. I've noticed that this headset especially makes character voices in games sound exceptionally clear...perhaps there's a bias or programming to emphasize voice? Either way, it works well. Voice chat in game is crystal clear, and it's really nice having volume, muting, and audio balance controls at your fingertips. My voice sounds clear as well; I've used the detachable boom mic (with a much-appreciated wind screen) to record commentaries through the Upload Studio app on my Xbox and it sounds pretty good. The ear cups (made of memory foam) completely surround or "cup" your ears, and also do a good job of isolating external noise and prevents sound from leaking out of your headset. COMFORT: Here the XO Sevens fall a little short. It's not that they're uncomfortable per se, but they could be better. The upper padded suede band sometimes creates pressure points on the top of my head, and I have them adjusted to the largest size. This headset won't pinch your ears, but the way it rests on your head to prop them upright may be annoying. Additionally, the ear cups are a mixed bag. The memory foam is nice, creating a good seal and conforming to your head in a way that won't pinch or be uncomfortable. However, they are coated in a leatherette material instead of cloth, which will make your ears get warm and start to sweat after about a half hour. After three Control matches in Destiny I have to take these off for a bit to give my ears a literal breather. Other than that, they are light and comfortable enough to be worn for extended periods of play. OVERALL: For the price, the Turtle Beach XO Seven Premium headset looks great, sounds great, and is really comfortable for the price. There are some comfort issues that prevent me from giving it a five-star review, but these TB's quality and price offsets this issue. Highly recommended. EDIT 12/2/15: In the months that have passed, the headset has become very uncomfortable to the point that I returned the item to Amazon. The top band creates bad pressure points on the top of my head, and the ear cups are so form-fitting and not breathable that my ears sweat after only about half an hour of play. They sound good enough, but that's a moot point if the headset is not comfortable. Downgrading to a 2-star review; would not recommend.

Terrible Customer Support
The headset worked well for 3 weeks. The audio was clear and the mic worked better than the OEM headset that came with the Xbox. I also didn't have the squeaky ear cuff issue many people have reported. My problems started 3 weeks into light use when the MS adapter used to connect the headset to the controller stopped working. I contacted Turtle Beach who told me I had to contact MS. MS told me they could replace the part, but that I needed to ship it back at my expense. Having to ship back a $24 part that probably cost $1.00 to make which only lasted 3 weeks is absurd. To further make me angry Turtle Beach has forums, but all posts to the forum need to be approved. My detailed description of the problem and results off all my calls have not been posted after a full week. I can only conclude that they are not allowing any negative posts. A better solution to not getting called out on your own message board is to provided actual customer service instead of pointing fingers at your partners. While all this went on the 30 days passed since delivery so now Amazon won't let me return the whole headset. My only option left seems to be to charge back my credit card unless someone from MS or Turtle Beach agrees that I shouldn't be paying anything to get this replaced and sends me the part.

Great headset but only if the price is right
Included in the box: - XO7 Headset - Detachable Microphone - Micro-USB connector - Two proprietary connector cables (one for XB1, one for phones with an inline mic) - XB1 Headset Adapter These headphones can be considered a great purchase if they can be bought for the right price. They are incredibly comfortable to wear (even with glasses on) and provide a very good sound-isolation. The padding is leather and soft, made from memory foam. They are well built, feel solid and feel perfectly weighty without overdoing it. They look reasonably fashionable and conform well with the head. Some of the negatives of using leather memory foam include a tight fit which eventually cause your ears to heat up - this is a well recognised issue with headphones such as this. Even so, lifting them off on the odd occasion for a few seconds sorts the problem. The sound from these is stereo and is clear and crisp coming from two 50mm drivers (one in each cup). The bass could do with slight improvement but for the purposes of gaming, they feel well balanced and offer great clarity. The microphone is of superb quality and is non-fixed (you can manouevre the mic to suit your needs). During XB Party sessions, I've been told that the sound quality is fantastic. Since the two new XB1 updates, there seem to be no problems with clicks being heard or with mic issues. If you persist having these issues, it is not the headset: update your controller firmware. Other users seem to prefer these cans in order to listen to music. Whilst I am not an audiophile, these headphones underwhelm me when I have used them for this purpose. Whilst the clarity and crispness is still present, the headphones are not strong at lows or highs. The mid-range is also somewhat ordinary. Unfortunately, I am left comparing these to my pair of Grado SR80i and Sennheiser On-Ear Momentums, neither of which are over-ear and closed-back (the Grado's are open-back). Despite this, I will not be using the XO7s as a replacement for either. One of the other negatives that I must mention is the drastically decreased controller battery life with the use of a headset. This is not a limitation of this particular headset but one in general and as such, I cannot mark the headset down for this particular issue. The purchase of a plug-and-play kit may aid the issue but creates the necessity for a wired connection between console and controller. Considering the price of these headphones includes the £20 headset adapter, a reasonable price for these would make them a great purchase as a gaming headset and for the purpose of general headphones to users who may not have viable alternatives.

Hallo? Was wollt ihr euren Ohren alles Antun? Also Ausreichend!!!

A must get, no matter what!
If you play xbox, and have a wife/girlfriend who hates the sound of explosions and gun fire, I would highly recommend these. They are comfortable, the sound is crystal clear and my buddies hear me perfectly. Another positive is they don't seem to drain the xbox one controller much quicker than not having a headset plugged in. The cord has a nice proactive covering over it; this was an absolute awesome idea. If you have furball cat beasts around the house this will most certainly help protect the cord. I lost many (and I mean many) iphone charge cords, headset cords, and recharge cords due to my furry friends. If you don't mind paying the price these are a great buy. Turtle Beach knows what they are doing and I promise you that you will be very happy with the purchase.
