Good product, bad luck
We have had these packs for a month now and the harness part is great! I have two German Shepherd/Malamute 6 month old puppies and the seam to love them. We live in Alaska and have gone on 10 hikes since we have bought them, roughly 75 miles. they are now about 75 lbs each but can't quite jump up in our truck yet. So we use the handles to lift up in the truck with no problems. The harnesses don't move around or shift. I bought a different one for my red healer and it never stays on right. They fit nice and are comfortable. We just finished a 19 mile overnight backpacking trip through the Alaska wilderness. We decided to have them pack their food for a trial run. However, 2 miles into the trip one of the puppies ran through the woods and distorted the harness and back. We were sad plus now we had to pack their food the rest of the trip. I truly don't know if it was product defect or just bad luck. But probably bad luck bc the other dog had no issues. I am thinking about buying one of these for my healer.

Bag ripped...Large is too long for a 70.2 lb lab
UPDATE: Harness rides extremely well, except for the girth belt. However, about halfway through a five-day, 10-mile backpack trip in MT, one of the saddlebags ripped on the bottom. It was carrying four cups of Science Diet dog food. By the end of the trip stuff was falling out the bottom. I think the harness is great but the pack is cheaply made.No instructions. Self-explanatory except It a large is too long for a 70.2 lb dog. The girth belt attaches right around him so he will pee all over it. The chest measurements seem perfect with this size (31.5" snug fit). Also, the girth belt might not be able to tighten enough for my dogโs size. It seems well-made and I think it would pack well, but the girth belt is going to be a problem if he pees on it every time he wears it. Without instructions or even pictures, it is difficult to figure out if it is sitting correctly on his back. I know he is on the smaller weight size for the large, but the chest measurements fit. He would have to be at least 4-6โ longer in the back and fatter in the midsection to make the girth belt work I think. Iโd return it, but Iโm not sure a medium would fit his chest as well as a large. I didnโt take him for a test-walk with it though, because I didnโt know if they would allow a return if he urinated on it (which is a certainty since the strap sits right on top of him there). I don't know how to contact the seller directly, so I don't know how to work out this problem. He is a perfectly-proportioned American Labrador at 70.2 lbs. If it doesn't fit him, I don't really know how it could fit other dogs unless they are much longer in the back. I really like the feel of this pack and think it would really hold up to extended, multi-day backpacking trips in MT. I just don't see how to make it work without simply cutting off the girth belt, but then it might slide forward when he is facing downhill or jumping down from something. Frustrating situation.

Sturdy pack at a great value
Was a bit skeptical based on the price and some typos in the product description, but this seems to be a very nice pack. The construction is solid and seems well made. It's a bit on the heavy side, I think having the two piece design (harness + pack) is nice for the flexibility it offers but definitely a trade off when it comes to the weight. My dog (11 month standard poodle) is right on the small side for the medium pack, but we're hoping he'll grow into it over the next year. The front straps work pretty well, but the back is very loose and cannot get any smaller. Our pup has a very narrow waist but is broad around his chest. He took to wearing the pack empty right away, having only ever had a very simple strap harness previously. We did some very vigorous hikes involving running and jumping in the woods and found the balance to be very important. The pack would definitely start turning to whichever side was heavier and was a little challenging to keep centered on his back when doing all the running and jumping. I'm sure on a more mild-mannered hike it would be just fine, though. The problem mostly went away when we were more diligent about keeping the weight the same on both sides. We haven't tried the compression straps or waterproofing yet, but so far are very happy with this purchase.

GET IT
Ok this pack is awesome. Way less expensive than the ruffwear, and although not having used the ruffwear pack, this has held up. We've taken our 60 lb dog on several backpacking trips and hiking several times with it and he does great with it. He got used to it in about 15 minutes and knows the pack equals fun time. It has been water proof against splashes but hasn't received any field testing with full submersion. The initial set up is a bit of a pain, getting it fitted correctly, but once you do, you never have to do it again. The pack unclips easily from the harness and the harness workes well by itself. Nice compartments, plenty of storage room. We have fit 6 full ziplock sandwhich bags of his food in here along with some other accessories with some room to spare. I say get it. Ordered the medium for our 60 lb tall bernedoodle as he was between small and medium and it fit great, definitely glad we went with the larger size, as it was more appropriate.

Fits a Great Dane!
I was so glad that the large size fit our Great Dane as well as it does! We havenโt gotten to use it yet, just got it in the mail today. I worry that the chest strap will rub in her armpits but I will update when we get to use it. With her large chest and small waist, I was happy that our first purchase could adjust to fit well in both areas. More to come!

Updated Review from Large to Medium
9/5/18 Update!!!!Received our medium saddle bag harness and it fits!!! Chance is so handsome with the vest on ! Will update again soon after we get used to wearing the harness and empty saddle bags.Original review - 2 starsI ordered a large for my 10 month old Golden Retriever who is 75 pounds. The front chest strap fit fine, the strap around his chest barrel was a little loose, but the strap around his waist was too loose even when straps were tightened as far as possible. Return process started and plan to order a medium. I will update when return is finished and product can really be tested with a medium. I really like the way it's made and believe it will work well.

He's 75lbs and it fits perfect. The pockets are a decent size
Solid quality. It slides around a little and slips now and then but our pup loves it! He's 75lbs and it fits perfect. The pockets are a decent size. It carries enough food for 6 days as well as a couple toys and water.

This pack is amazing quality, padded straps are great and the side ...
This pack is amazing quality, padded straps are great and the side bags are huge! BUT it fit my dog a little strange (mixed breed). The harness was too long in the body and the strap covered is "bits" lol. I have suggested that they include measurements for body length in their description.

Well made.
Havnt used it for an extended trip yet. But it sits really well on my dog when loaded up with her food. Taking it in the back country for a week so that will be a good test.
