How much weight can this hold?

My opinion is that it could hold up to 60 lbs, more weight, I think that it could fall over. If it is set up properly. For the longevity of the item I would not put as much weight at a constant.

Why is it not sturdy after I set it up

Make sure all your bolts are tight. also, it needs to sit on skid pads or it will slide across the floor if you bump it or do bob ross style painting. Mine is not as sturdy as I would like it to be either. I am looking at modifying mine to beef it up.

Really nice. Screws need deeper holes.

It is a sturdy and beautiful easel. Although I could use an even larger one, this holds very large canvases, which I use as a professional. My husband says a couple holes were not drilled deep enough, but all pieces were included. I'm very happy I bought it, and the price with 2 day shipping makes it a big Win for me!

I really rounded up from four and a half. Could be a little sturdier but it works for my daughter in her small manhattan apartment and she hasn’t complained.She did paint me something on it.

Great for the price

This is my first easel and i have to say i absolutely love it! The only reason i give it 4 stars is because of the directions that were provided and the assembly process. I would advise anyone to watch the video provided on Amazon because the directions are confusing. Also, just a warning you will need to try pre drilling for the nails because it’s a pain trying to screw some of them in. Overall it’s nice, love the quality of the wood and great price.

Beautiful and I think it’s going to serve my purpose

I’m loving this so far!!! Assembly wasn’t possible without a drill, not for me. I don’t know how anyone is strong enough to drill the screws in without a drill, but maybe someone is. Haha. It is beautiful and I have it in my family room. I am a beginner, so I don’t know what I don’t know about easels. I am sure I will learn.

Great easel - adds to a great painting experience.

Love it - sturdy and good looking. Never mind clutter in the background - sigh - some of us thrive in it. But the easel provides a good stand for all size of canvas and nice to look at - so much nicer than propping up on whatever is at hand.

Had to buy powertool and hardware to assemble, product quality is abysmal

This easel's product quality (assembled) is irrelevant to my review given the danger of it being ruined during assembly being enough of a reason to not buy it.The screws provided along with the pre-drilled holes make it impossible for you to screw in the screws all the way in.Given that the screws are Phillips screws made out of very soft metal it is incredibly easy for you to strip the screws while attempting to screw them in. The predrilled holes do not allow for the screw to go in unless you have a power tool. Even when using a power tool the chance of one accidentally stripping a screw and then being unable to remove it is way too high.As I bought a power tool to finish the assembly and had to buy new JIS style screws to assemble, while several screws had to be removed with pliers before deciding to replace them, this product gets a one star review.My wife is a professional artist and I have handled many easels in the past. Even after the ordeal of assembling this easel the overall quality of the product is abysmal. It is wobbly, light, slides all over the place and the overall engineering of the product is terrible. As an engineer myself I can point out a lot of unnecessary design decisions that decreased the quality and usability of the product. The product was bought for the looks and its good reviews.It is surprising to me how none of the reviews I read before buying the product mentioned these very big deal-breakers.I hope my review will at least turn away some people from buying the product and ruining their day.
