Her daughter should be a teenager by now with her son a few years behind and both were lovely models in the book. With my granddaughter growing fast, she has grown into the dresses and clothing that the young lady was modeling at the time. I originally made my granddaughter the dress on the cover of this book. I did not look great on my then four year old so their size 4 as I discovered too late is our US 8. It had too much yardage for the playground for that age group. However, now that she is 7, the dress fits her better and she looks great and loves the dress so granny, that is me, has some new orders for this dress pattern. The largest is a 4 which is a US size 8. I also made some of the boy's shirts back when my granddaughter was 4. The one with double rows of buttons I made into a girls shirt and I made it longer. I also moved up the neck line on some of the patterns as there was too much collar bone showing and we live in a hot climate and are sun sensitive. I had to do this on most of the patterns including the dress I made. It is possible that it was because I had the size wrong for my child but in looking at the outfits on the author's children, you will see on some of those outfits, they are sculpted a little low on the necklines front and back. I am hoping I can use these patterns for awhile for my granddaughter and then will be looking for a new book for teens by this author. It did not deter me that I had to make some of the necklines higher. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not exactly for boys *by F***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 20, 2015* I bought this book because I spend so much time altering ready to wear clothing in order for it to fit my son that I may as well just sew his clothes from the get go. There aren't that many patterns out there for boys which aren't completely ugly and I have liked Japanese sewing books for myself so I figured I would give this one a try. Here is the nitty gritty. There are 20 patterns in this book, nicely divided into spring/summer and fall/winter. Only 5 of these patterns are for boys. 3 are in the spring/summer section and 2 are in the winter section.Spring/Summer:Pullover shirt for boys--I plan on making this for my son, it's cute and simpleLinen shirt for boys--No. Just no. It has a strange double button detail that would be nice for a girls shirt, but does not look like a boys shirt at all.Boys shorts--This is a fine, simple shorts pattern, and has patch pockets on the butt, but no front pockets, I'll probably add my own because my son loves pocketsFall/Winter:Unisex jacket--Once again, I would not call this unisex. It's very cute, but I probably won't be making it for my sonBoy's raglan jacket--It's cute and simple, it doesn't look like it will take too much time to sew and it still looks like it will be warm enough for the winter....BUT, that's it. Nothing else for boys. Not even a long sleeve shirt or pants pattern. I'm still giving it a 4-star review because it does have a lot of cute options for girls and when my daughter is older I'll use it for her, but it's really not going to suit my needs as far as my son's handmade wardrobe is concerned.
