They're a bit tender (less tender than shortbread), they're dry, and they're not strong flavored. All in all, they're a nice snack as is for those of us who don't go for sweets, and they're also an ideal base for high quality toppings like farm cheeses, exotic honeys, and homemade preserves. As a regular consumer of Scandinavian hardtack, I can attest to the fact that these are nothing like hardtack. Quite delicious. A July 2023 update: I got very tired of the oatcakes that one U.S. seller simply throws into unpadded envelopes, so I switched to a U.K. seller who packs them properly. They arrived only one day later and in much better shape.

Similar to Stockan's thin oatcakes, but with a flavor that's just a little tiny bit darker somehow. They're a bit tender (less tender than shortbread), they're dry, and they're not strong flavored. All in all, they're a nice snack as is for those of us who don't go for sweets, and they're also an ideal base for high quality toppings like farm cheeses, exotic honeys, and homemade preserves. As a regular consumer of Scandinavian hardtack, I can attest to the fact that these are nothing like hardtack. Quite delicious. You can see from the photos how the oatcakes were just tossed in instead of packed correctly. This combined with Amazon's decision to literally ship this little box in a bigger box with a scissor jack meant every single one is broken to bits. Now they are just delicious crumbs.
