AcuRite (01139M) Pro Humidity Meter and Thermometer with Backlight Button

A great dependable meter. Updates quickly like every 10 seconds. Batteries last a long time, as I recall I only changed once after about 3 years of continuous use. I find the backlight very handy (tap the top to light). Temperature was accurate vs other gauges in the home. Didn't have another hygrometer to compare against. But taking the math approach you can take the local weather readings and calculate what the indoor relative humidity should probably be, and it was right on accurate. Great value for the money! Recently bought another one for a friend.

The calibration part is annoying, but the salt method works to get the humidty set correctly. I used the thermostat temp to calibrate the temperature. After that, it does what it's supposed to do. I had to calibrate the humidity 2% and the temperature 1 degree, so out of the box is relatively close to accurate. The magnets are pretty strong. I had it hanging on drywall over a corner (corner bead/screw) without falling off. For the price, it was worth a day of calibration. I gave it 4 stars because it's similarly priced to units that come with batteries and this does not. ALSO - the complete lack of consistency regarding battery size in their own description and from customers in the question section. Mine required 2 AAA batteries. In their own description it's listed as AA & AAA. In the question section, it's listed as both. I'm not sure where the mistakes come from or if they have different models using the same model number or what? Just annoying to not know which batteries to order before receiving this.

I found this unit to be very accurate and the light is great

I purchased these to place around the house. Originally, I had installed a humidifier and wanted to see if the humidity was consistent throughout the house. It was a great tool for doing this. I like the magnetic back - it makes it easy to place. The numbers are large, and easy to read. I do wish that the light was a little easier to turn on. For some reason, I can't usually just "touch" the unit to make the light turn on. Instead, I have to grab the unit on multiple areas. They are inexpensive enough to place in many areas. Recommended!

I bought this device to tell me what the humidity is in my bedroom. I bought two other brands and a humidifier with a humidity monitor. None of the read the same. 9 degree swing in some cases. This was the only device that allowed for calibration. Because of this fact I am using this device as my control. One more thing in my case adding the 3 units readings together and then dividing 3 gives a useable results.

Had to replace an 8 year old AcuRite as it was no longer accurate. This replacement was dead on with what my thermostat indicated. Really like the light feature that my old one did not have,

These are nice temp gauges for the money. The light internal light is very handy and they last a long time on a set of batteries. Also, the temp and humidity settings can be adjusted.

Works as it should and the backlight feature is useful in dim places. Only wished that it can be connected via wifi/IOT so that I can monitor the readings remotely

Primero compré el modelo sin luz y al final terminé comprando este modelo con luz. Es la gran ventaja en la noche estar monitoreando mi mini split con el. El único defecto es que no tiene boton de apagado y encendido y como solo lo uso en la noche, tengo que quitarle en el día las pilas y volverselas a poner en la noche y esto es molesto
