simple from scratch!
I hardly ever use cookbooks because any recipe can be easily found for free online. Plus when I use my recipe app to download them I can easily modify them to my liking. BUT, this book is very much worth having!The thing about this book is that it's all from scratch but still easy to make. If you google for an "easy" recipe, 99% of the time you'll get recipes that start from a can or jar.Don't get me wrong, I'm a fairly good cook, and can do complicated recipes if the mood strikes, but I also work full time and don't have time do really lengthy recipes.I've only made 2 of the recipes in this book so far, but they both came out really tasty, and I've got at least 6 more recipes tagged to try in the future! It has recipes that I never would have thought to look up online, another plus!I did notice though, that the author seems to reallllly like coriander/cilantro because it's in so many of the recipes (yuck, I'm in camp "cilantro smells like soap") , so I just leave it out. I don't know what would be a good substitute though to still give it flavor without smelling like soap?All in all, definitely recommend this book, even if you usually prefer online recipes to cookbooks!

Witty and tasty recipes
A very funny, witty book, with some very tasty recipes. All of the recipes are delicious, and not too complicated either, though some lists of ingredients can be quite long with some obscure ingredients (e.g. quince paste, which I can't find for love nor money). However, the recipes are still fantastic, and I bought a second copy for a friend who loves it too

So funny!
Gave this as a birthday present to my cinephile friend as it combines my love for food and their love for all things cinema, film, and corny dad jokes. It was perfect gift and made everyone at the party laugh. The recipes look good enough to actually make, though might seem a bit basic for professional chefs.
