The problem with the freezer trick is that everything returns... so if you made an error and erased and wrote on top of it, the freezer brings it all back to an illegible mess. Love these pens but do not recommend for anything important. **Q: how long does it take for the ink to dry on regular paper - or do these smear easily?** A: I have never encountered a pen that does not smear. No matter how fast the alcohol evaporates and the ink dries OR how I hold my hands. I have *always returned* to the SHARPIE'S Ultra Fine Point Permanent MARKER. Surprisingly, this is the ONE & ONLY writing instrument that has never smeared. STAY AWAY FROM: the new Sharpie S Gel 0.7 "pens." The WORST writing tool ever. **Q: Does the ink come off with an iron I am a quilter.** A: Yes it will with an iron. Once the cloth with the ink is washed it will never come back to reappear in the freezer. **Q: Are they .5 or .7? Fine indicates .5 but details say .7.** A: 0.7mm means "Fine Point/Tip". 0.5mm means "Extra Fine Point/Tip". This is nuanced, and mainly depends on the paper. On normal paper 0.7mm gel ink applies narrow, and would be considered "fine", and 0.5mm is even extra narrow. For Rocketbook the 0.7mm gel ink looks thicker, closer to 0.9mm, because the paper causes ink to spread out or smear slightly resulting in slightly thicker lines. I would recommend the 0.5mm for RocketBook users if you like fine point.
